Now, imagine someone offers you £1000 to fuck you anally. That doesn't mean you suddenly want to have sex with them, it doesn't mean you will suddenly enjoy it. It means you are enduring having sex with them for the promise of financial reward. I don't know if you imagine that women are wildly turned on by the thought of earning money, but the fact is that while porn doesn't violate consent and is therefore legally acceptable, it still necessitates sticking a dick in someone who doesn't necessarily want to have a dick stuck in them. The tolerance of the person having the dick stuck in them depends entirely on their own ability to psychologically deal with being fucked when they don't want to be, is it really surprising that some people break down?...
I'm confused - if you don't want to be a porn star, then don't? If someone offered me £1000 to let them do that I'd just say no - I just don't get your point here :/

If your career choice is to be fucked and to fuck then you probably have to make sure that that's something you actually want to do. You know, like with any other job. And just like with any other job, if you don't want to keep doing it then you quit.

I think they were arguing from the perspective of an individual in need of money more so than the average person. It's a grey area, for sure.

Not just two chicks going at it for the entertainment of straight men, but actual porn made for lesbians. Wouldn't that then be women objectifying women, not men?
Colour me curious; how does one make such a distinction of the material? Are there certains studios known to produce content along these lines or certain actresses one can use as a yardstick (so to speak) on this?

Lol, no, he's talking about prostitution in a thread about pornography - me thinks he's a little confused ;)

Very, very few prostitutes are in the role they are because they want to be, and that's more or less their point; it isn't rape, but it is as close as one can get. They are arguing they don't want the sex, but consent to it for the money they usually are in desperate need of.

Stereotypically, porn made with the mainstream woman or lesbian in mind, focuses more on tenderness, foreplay and intimacy. You may notice that the bulk of heterosexual porn, starring men and women or just women, skips actual foreplay and the entire film consists of sex acts in varying degrees of extreme. Porn made with women in mind, again lesbian or otherwise, is often slow, sensual and more erotic than dirty.

EDIT: Also, yes, there are indeed sites that create porn solely with lesbians or heterosexual women in mind. There's quite a few out there and I enjoy the content of some of them--I feel it more real and intimate than the usual "guy fucking a screaming woman" porn.

Again, this thread is about porn, not prostitution... there is (hopefully) a bit of a difference.

In reality, the only difference is the presence of a camera; women and men are paid to have sex, one in front of a camera, the other not. Both accurate definitions of prostitution.

I'm not against porn, mind. Just stating what I see as the facts.

If we're playing the "porn is bad" game, how about BBW porn encouraging unhealthily overweight/obese women to not shed the pounds?

I'm not really sure what you're getting at with that comment. It seems sarcastic, but I don't know why you'd say it sarcastically, as I've no doubt the small and extreme section of feminists that disapprove of porn would also disapprove of BBW porn, because it's... well, still porn.

There's definitely an argument to be made there, sure. They are both associating payment with sex. However, at least overtly they are different industries, with their own issues.

They're only different because in the U.S. one of them is illegal :p

(Interestingly, Australia cops a lot of flack for being censored and the like, especially from the U.S., but prostitution is legal in all Australian states and in very few American states.)
