Portal 2.WHERE IS IT?!

No this is no one of those impatient fanboys who accidentaly say 1 instead of !.(Am I the only one who understood that?)
Anyway,Portal 2 has been confirmed for some time now,with different sources saying its a prequel and a direct sequel(Just look up wikipedia,of course -_-).
So any ideas when it might come out?Prequel or sequel?

There is no need for a sequel to portal. As good as it was, that magic "it" factor that it has could not be re-created. Any attempt would feel (fanboyism aside) very forced imo.

Hmm, valve isn't really known for its fast releases.
BUT
take a loot at http://www.portalprelude.com/
Its a mod for portal, it adds a lot of levels, a little backstory and is (to my experience) a lot harder then the original version.

That should make the wait a bit more endurable.

Fuck Portal 2, infact, fuck HL2EP3 aswell, we've been waiting for it for so long I've actually lost any interest I had in it. While Valve were busy making a sequel to a game that had only been out a year, they must have forgotten about all the Half Life fans that have been waiting just over double that time for what will presumably be a 4 or 5 hour long instalment of a genuinely original story.

Valid point.But,there engine was changed a couple of times,it could indeed happen to portal aswell,but there isnt much to change in terms of engine.So not for this reason anyway...

Maybe because,critics gave it high points/precentages/wahtever than Half-Life and Team Fotress 2.Don't get me wrong,team fortress 2 is excellent.But I haven't played half life and I doubt I ever will.So I can't go much further on that.

To be honest, I think you're kind of luck the Portal became anything more than a tech demo. Besides it doesn't need a sequel (there's too much hype surrounding it now anyway. yahtzee was very right about the whole thing with portal fans).

I get the impression that Valve has both Ep3 and Counterstrike 2 on its list before Portal 2. In an interview I saw, Gabe was talking about how they were working on both, but for Portal 2 he pretty much said that it would exist at some point. I would look at some of the excellent Portal mods before I started hoping for a sequel.

When Gabe Newell's involved, the only time frame you can put on a release is,

"It'll be done when it's done,"

He isn't known for rushing things out.

Portal 2 has never been directly confirmed by Valve. They have hinted at it before, but they've never said that they are actually making it.
