Heh, I could see where those people were coming from when reading most of the early reviews for Outcasts... Between people complaining it was "too middle class", "supporting the feminist agenda", and "not enough aliens", there were people who just raged with poor spelling and grammar and provided no support for what they said. But on the whole, I always find aggregates to be useful (Outcasts at least ended up with a score of 6.2, something you wouldn't expect from the reviews - which says something about the system, I guess).ranger19 said:I'm not sure I can think of any unpopular opinion that comes to mind.. I mean I think card games are really fun and I enjoy playing massive amounts of video games, which while nerdy and not something I exactly tell people when I meet them, is something everyone I'm friends with knows. I mainly noticed what I bolded above and wanted to send a cautionary warning: there are people out there that will try to rip you apart for using IMDB as any sort of aggregate. I once used it in passing to say something about a movie (I don't really remember the details) and I got a string of responses about how "IMDB is a bunch of 12 year olds voting for their favorite movies over and over" and how useless it was. For the record, I agree with you about IMDB being a decent aggregate.. but you've been warned.OhJohnNo said:Well, that's good news. I just see a lot of hate for it on forums.JourneyThroughHell said:It's 8.2 on IMDB. That is usually a pretty accurate aggregate. So people like it, mostly.OhJohnNo said:I think Avatar is an excellent movie (internet)
Some people don't like the plot, apparently. Which I can understand. I liked the execution, though, as well as the worldbuilding and special effects.![]()
I still find Metacritic more useful in the end, because it lists user aggregate AND critic aggregate.
