I'ts amazing how much the music in different countries can differ from each other, even if it's within the same genre.
I'm from Norway, I like to check out new music, and I would love to see (or hear) some bands from other parts of the world.
Also, if they sing in their native language, that's just great. ;)

I'll start it off with one of my favorite norwegian bands:

Kaizers Orchestra, a band which many people consider to be one of the best live bands in Norway.

Apologies if this topic has been done before, but I couldn't find anything like it when I searched.

Edit: Fixed the tags.

Hmm, I think I'll post some Alestorm, since they're from Scotland, which is where I was born.

U2, from Ireland. You might have heard of them, but I doubt it.

Actually I don't like U2, but have a listen to The Blizzards:

I'd have to say...hmm...

Rap: Hilltop Hoods - I don't like most rap/hip-hop but for some reason I like Hilltop Hoods. Check out Clown Prince or The Nosebleed Section by them.

Metal: LORD (Lord?),a band with whom I have conversed (on a forum). I like their latest EP, Hear No Evil because of the song by the same name. They also covered Kylie Minogue's On A Night Like This, with a male vocalist...surprisingly, I like it.

Kind of wish The Decemberists were so I could claim them. But, alas, I can't. And England gets to claim Pink Floyd. And Australia gets AC/DC and Canada gets the Bare Naked Ladies.

America has The Eagles though. And Billy Joel.

Well, I like several.

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter.
Fettes Brot.
Tears for Beers.
Sub7even.
I used to enjoy H-Blockx but that diminished somewhat.
