Greetings fellow Escapists! I've been working on a Pokemon Dream Team (kinda moot since B&W comes out in 2 months, but still) and I was looking for some feedback.
So far, my team will consist of:
Aggron ("Sergei")- knows Head Smash, also has Rock Head
Slowking ("King Hippo")- knows Trick Room
Porygon Z ("Flynn")- general annoyance (ie. Ice Beam, Recover, other troll moves)
Hitmonlee ("Kato")- just a fighting type

this is all I've got so far. I'm attempting to cover as many types as I can. I'm thinking of maybe Gengar or Nidoking along with maybe Salamence.
Feedback and advice greatly appreciated.
Anyone else have a dream team they'd like to share with the class?

I only really need two Pokemon for my dream team. The rest are whatever I feel like at the moment. But it must include squirtle (no evolution, just squirtle) and Garydos.

I only use Gen 1!

Charizard
Gyarados
Venusaur
Jolteon
Onyx
Gengar
With only first gen moves? Or are you not that shallow?

OT: My dream team is my actual team and this is excluding Gen V cause I havent gotten to use any yet, but I'm kinda scared to because its so switched that my convetional teams now will be rendered useless. But here's my A team. The other two are just my back ups and stuff to keep things fresh.

Vaporeon Bold Nature
-surf
-Ice beam
-Wish
-Toxic

Typhlosion Rash Nature
-Flamethrower
-thunderpunch (I cheated to get it, but its a legal move)
-Earthquake
-Focus Blast

Dragonite Rash Nature
-Outrage
-Earthquae
-Ice Beam
-Flamethrower (though I may make this Thunderbolt, kinda depends on who I battle)

Lucario Mild Nature
-Stone Edge
-Dark Pulse
-Psychic
-Close Combat

Venasuar Modest Nature
-Petal Dance
-Energy Ball
-Sludge Bomb
-Earthquake

Weavile Jolly Nature
-Ice Punch
-Brick Break
-Night Slash
-Aerial Ace

Tyranitar with Sand Stream and Leftovers.
Level 1 Aron with Gen 5 Sturdy and Shell Bell, the moves would be Endeavour and Taunt.

The Aron will absolutely sweep your Level 100 team. =P

In all seriousness though, my team would probably be a Gen 5 Rain Dance team. Too lazy to construct one though, much less a half decent one.

I'll post mine tomorrow. However, you've instantly got a problem - Salamence and Nidoking are both very weak to stuff like Ice, Water etc.

Ah, true... hm... well I've got Slowbro as a partner with Aggron (Trick Room+Head Smash+Rock Head=Maximum Damage), I've got Porygon and Hitmonlee as general backup (Hitmonlee would have moves like Fire Kick, Porygon would know Ice Beam and such), so they can handle a variety of stuff... I'm thinking of poison... maybe a poison type with some fire moves (can't Nidoking learn Fireblast or something?) and also maybe a Froslass or Sabeleye...

My favorite team is the one I had from my Pokemon Yellow days, without legendaries:

Pikachu
Venusaur
Charizard
Blastoise
Gengar
Gyarados

If legendaries count, then I'd substitute Blastoise for Mewtwo.

Are you doing imports from other games or not?

If they're allowed, there is no reason why Garchomp shouldn't be on this team.
Also, starmie- surf, ice beam, t-bolt, psychic/grass knot/recover

If you're going with the whole slow pokemon thing (a bad idea btw) I recommend both conkeldurr and scrafty. Also, something like magneton that throws t-wave around

Not a huge fan of the games (combat is immensely slow, even for a turn based game) but I might pick em up again.
really? If you know what you're doing you can run through most encounters in one turn per enemy pokemon. Only the Gym battles take long and that's because they're boss fights.

Hell, the only time it seems slow is during some competitive matches, where people switch a ton or use stall teams.

TEAM EEVEE!

One of the best things to happen with Pokemon is the new EEVEE evolution.

It's magical!

It's just watching the drawn out attack animations (the bigger attacks take forever) waiting for the HP bar to go down (if they have a big health bar, it goes down very slowly) and after that, flip through text telling you your opponent is dead (thanks captain obvious, never would have guessed) and then you see your experience bar go up.

It's tedious, I guess I am used to Shin Megami Tensei turn based combat (Devil Survivor in particular features lightning fast turn based combat)
Oh that. It would be nice to have an animations off button or something. I'm just used to the more streamlined competitive stuff.

Am I the only person on the planet that saw the option to turn off attack animations in the options menu of Pokemon games?
haha. I guess so.

I agree with Tizzy though. Shorter animations would be nice. Like with what pokemon show down does. It still keeps all the animations, but they're more streamlined.
