I half expect Titanfall will go cross platform within a year, anyway. Things really don't look good for XBone from what I've seen. Only the most delusional Microsoft fanboys are really defending it.
Things look bad for the Xbox One? What universe are you living in?
And half of them aren't.
Which means the Xbox One is still selling despite every escapist's prayers to the contrary.
To think that the Xbox one simply wouldn't sell at all is unrealistic, of course it's going to sell, but is it going to reach the numbers that microsoft wants? In an industry where they have insane goals and often think they will meet them by force of sheer will (or ignorance) I sincerely doubt the Xbox one is going to make a profit with all of the skeptics lined up against it.
I would take any overflowing optimism articles with a healthy dose of skepticism. They're willing to say or do anything at this point (And by extension have anyone else say or do) to make the Xbone look less than a huge mistake.
It will probably make millions, but with production, advertisement, contractual obligations distribution, so on etc I wouldn't be surprised if they spent billions on the project that won't recoup even 75% of the investment.
@Console war vs PC
There will always be a place for consoles, though debatably smart phones are in a sense becoming their own intermediate console. Simple, easy to use fun games that might draw people into the industry. I don't think consoles are ever going to go away, but I certainly hope they trim the fat (Like the understated Wii U).
