Guten Tag, everyone. With the launch of Power Rangers: Samurai, which I am very glad to see back in Saban's hands after so many years, I imagine a lot of old fans are looking forward to seeing where the show goes from here. In response to this, and the upcoming 35th season of Super Sentai this month, I believe the time is perfect for a Power Rangers RP.
I was catching up on a number of old seasons from Saban and Disney well before I began writing this, so there will be elements that are familiar if you have seen those seasons, but this is not a sequel to any season or concept. (However, to be fair, Mystic Force/Magiranger was my biggest inspiration so make of that what you will.)
For this RP, a number of players from 5 to 8 should be good to work with.
Well, that's all you need to get started. Again, if you have questions, PM me and I will help you. I look forward to a great time with this, and I hope all of you do also.

500 years prior in 1511, a practicing demonologist released a force that took his body hostage. In a both good and terrible result, his body was spared from aging and natural death, but the being he had summoned, self-nicknamed Wrack, used him like a puppet to carry out it's machinations; everything from small disturbances to anarchy. Starting with the East coast of the United States in Maryland, Wrack committed these atrocities over the years and tried to bring others like him into the world to pervert it further.
Ten years later, a folklorist by the name of Vincent began hearing rumors of a man with powers no man should ever possess. Taking interest, he searched for and eventually tracked down Wrack, attempting to halt a ritual he was trying to complete. He was unsuccessful in directly stopping the event, being beaten back by the incredible powers he held. As he lay battered and beaten nearly to death at the feet of his foe, fearing he had no other options, he uttered a chant that would grant him the same immunity to death Wrack was bringing to his host's body. It succeeded, but in the process it cursed both of them further.
As he recovered from the effects of the spell and his near death, Vincent began to realize that, despite now being immortal, he alone stood little chance against Wrack. He possessed little magical skill, but in losing to the demon, he steadily gained a new drive to study and improve, looking into various magics of many kinds, along with those from the creatures of legend and myth. With further study, Vincent discovered a way he could allow himself to access the powers and abilities of the creatures he had studied throughout the years. However, even with the results of his research at his disposal, Wrack beat him back on his next two encounters.
It was after his third failure to stop Wrack that an idea came to him, courtesy of several young men and women who took him in to heal his wounds. After recovering and gaining their trust, Vincent told them of his enemy and his situation, asking for their help in facing Wrack. While at first hesitant because of his admission of studying magic, they eventually agreed when they realized what kind of evil the demon could bring into the world.
After several attempts, Vincent succeeded at imbuing objects with the magic of a variety of mythical beasts, granting the first set of 'Evoker Morphers', as he called them, to the ones who had offered to help him. The result was a group of people able to call on the powers and abilities of their selected creatures, as well as allowing the magic to enhance their bodies in various ways as Vincent had done before. Christened the 'Mythic Rangers' from the group's initial routine of maintaining an air of mystery about them, working within the forests of the East Coast, and using simple disguises to keep their identities secret, along with Vincent, they moved to engage Wrack's forces. With a greater force to contend with, Wrack was finally beaten, but not destroyed. In his last moments, he made himself scarce, retreating to another part of the East Coast to recover and plan against the new powers against him.
Ever since, the two beings and their forces have engaged each other time and again, with Wrack keeping up his pleasures of chaos and trying to bring more of his kind to Earth to spread his influence, while Vincent and the Rangers have faced off against him and his horrors. Each time, the Rangers push him back, and each time continue safeguarding lives. With each major failure to his name, Wrack is left disabled and moves to another part of the U.S., hoping to evade further confrontations. Yet each time, the Rangers are not far behind, fighting his forces and keeping the peace.
Now, it is the spring of 2011. In the southeast of Texas, near the city of Houston, the demon usurer is preparing for another attempt to dominate a portion of the U.S. At the same time, the current group of Rangers are searching for individuals worthy of inheriting their names and powers.

Basic Rules -
This being a forum RPG, please follow the basic rules of etiquette while posting and storytelling. Do not troll, flame, spam, harass, or otherwise put down fellow posters. (If you have questions, PM me. If you wish to take a reserve slot, say so before the game begins. Do not ask in the thread once the game is live, or your character will not be considered.)
Now, the specific rules.
1.- No Famous Relationships ? In short, your persona in the RPG cannot have any relationship to a character from past seasons, friendly or otherwise. (I know every season is in continuity in one form or another, even with Forever Red, Once A Ranger, and likely RPM, but this rule makes the game easier to manage and ensures that we're all on an equal playing field.)
2.- No God-like Characters ? No one should have god-like abilities, nor should they be written as such. (Tension and danger builds good characters. Also, sub-plots. If you have a sub-plot which you wish to bring in at some point, please tell me. I will likely approve of it, but you must tell me beforehand.)
3.- No God-Modding* ? While this is a Power Rangers RP, the Rangers are not perfect individuals. As a general rule, outside of a small group of Wyrmlings, auto-hits and auto-defense are not allowed. Playing this kind of character against tougher foes is boring and sucks the life out a story, so do not do it.
4.- OOC Communication ? For this, you can send PMs on this site, or use chat/IM programs such as Skype. Only do so in the thread itself if you need everyone to know something important immediately.
5.- Leaving the game ? If you must leave the RP for any reason or length of time, please PM me and let me know. Do not leave the other players or I guessing if you are still here or not.
6.- Have fun. - If this comes off as rule heavy, my apologies, but this is to ensure all of the players to be involved enjoy this experience.
Combat and Warnings -
Combat - Given how the show has grown from a few Putties in Season 1 to masses of enemies in Samurai, this RPG will be a bit modest in terms of fighting. When battling minions, you are free to fight a mass of up to 4 enemies freely, but also do your best to detail how you fight. I.E., if you're a Karate student, describe the impact a chop to the chest has on the enemy, or a roundhouse against the enemy's hip if you are a Kickboxer. Also, add some flair. The Rangers could do Hollywood esque Wire-Fu moves on a regular basis, so have fun and show off a bit, but be mindful of presentation and attacks from fellow posters.
*Warning System ? For this RP, the one major thing I will not tolerate is God-Modding. I expect people to show off and write awesome scenes for their characters, however taking down a major bad guy all by yourself in a normal situation, accessing powers you do not have, and anything else similar or greater in scope, is not allowed and will be considered God-Modding. If I see you doing it, I will warn you and give you a chance to fix/remove the modding issue, but following that, I reserve the right to remove you from the game for major violations of this rule. Warnings will also be given for posts that are distracting, i.e. if you put a music video in a post then add the written out lyrics as well. This is considered distracting.

Name ? Full or Nickname
Age ? Must be older than 18, but younger than 26.
Physical Description ? Include anything you need about your PC's description, dress styles, ect.
Occupation ? What is it and do they like it?
Ranger Animal ? Which animal do you draw your powers from?* Remember, these animals must have a basis in myth, folklore, or legend, and no two Rangers may use the same animal. Examples include: Werewolf, Minotaur, Hydra, The Kirin, ect. You may not, however, use creatures that have names, Sun Wukong or Nessie, for example, or creatures who are partners of a deity, like Sleipnir. (*You are allowed a max of 2 unique powers that can be drawn from your animal. Please note that these are NOT civilian powers like you would see in SPD; you must be morphed to use them.) If you are unsure about a particular animal you wish to use, please PM me.
Suit Color ? Extra Rangers have usually been metallic suited so stick with matte colors. (Also, concerning the Red Ranger, I have plans to decide who will earn that right, so at the outset, there should be no Red ranger.)
Martial Style ? Your physical style, such as Karate, Judo, Akido, ect. (You can combine styles to make a unique one, but you are allowed a max of two regular styles overall, and they cannot be styles that are too exotic.) Again, if you are unsure about this, PM me and I can assist.
Weapon(s)/Styles ? The weapon style you use, if any, and your weapon(s) of choice. (These can include melee weapons such as swords, axes and polearms, and ranged weapons like pistols, bows, and throwing knives. A max of two in any combination is allowed.)
Personality ? What kind of character are you? How do you see the world and the events around you?
Biography ? Give us a description of your character, be it long or short. How did you get involved in the conflicts between Wrack and Vincent? Do you have good friends or distrusted individuals in your life?
RP Sample ? This spot is meant to show me a sample of your RP work. Like any forum RPG, there is a lot of writing involved, so consider this a practice space. (While this goes without saying, I am doing the same.) Try for something related to this specific RP, and anywhere from 100 to 500 words should suffice. If you're wondering what to try, a sample battle, dialogue between your PC and an NPC, or just a general scenario that can serve as a short prologue to this RP will work.

Name ? Alex Bauer
Age ? 24
Physical Description ? Six feet zero, short blond hair, thin athletic build. Alex prefers to dress in clothes that can take a beating, things like denim jeans and jackets, or leather vests.
Occupation ? Comic store manager. He enjoys the job, but wants to own a store later.
Ranger Animal ? Werewolf
[image width=400]http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs45/i/2009/141/0/5/Fan__s_Werewolf_by_ZoeStead.png[/IMG]
When morphed, Alex has access to these two unique powers.
Howl of Fear ? This howl, which taps into the fear many beings have of wolves, frightens nearby monsters, making them less effective in battle but only when in Alex's presence. However, it also frightens those who are not Rangers, making them panic and run in response.
Partial Shifting ? Alex can alter part of his body, doing things such as growing claws, increasing his smelling/hearing senses, or strength/speed for a time. However, he can only do this with one aspect at a time and he does not have full control over it's staying power when he initially becomes a Ranger. While this ability remains active, he cannot demorph.
Suit Color ? Black
Martial Style(s) ? Krav Maga/Akido
Style and Weapon(s) ? Style: German Fencing / Weapon(s) - German Langshwert(Longsword), Ruger 9mm
Personality ? Alex is a serious minded individual, both in work and with company, though his relationship with Cheryl does make him more mellow at times. While he can make jokes when the mood catches him, he is often collected and at ease when speaking. Being a manager, he has a lot of experience influencing others, but also with making sure those same people look up to him.
Biography ? After graduating from college on a Business degree, Alex started working at a few law firms doing filing work before he chose to do managerial work instead at a local comic/hobby shop, Fireside Comics. It was four months later when he met Cheryl, a frequent customer and comic lover. Since then, their relationship has strengthened over the last year.

Looking to the rest of his customers, Alex sighed in frustration. He couldn't believe this had gone on for so long. ?Ma'am, I told your son why I can't let him buy this comic, just as I did you.?
?But, you made me get out of my car for a four dollar transaction, and no one would know but you and her.? The woman then tossed a five dollar bill on the counter and took the comic in her hands as she left in a huff. The ring of the exit bell was Alex's signal to swear in his head. He hated customers like that.
?Next in line, please.? Alex said, bringing over a customer with a stack of comics in his hands. He barely looked into his customer's eyes before he decided to apologize.
The customer, a regular by the name of Michael, responded as he got his wallet out. ?For what? Wasn't your fault.? Sighing again, Alex tried to put a smile on again. He'd been in retail for years. He knew these kinds of people. It was start something, act out, leave, ruin everyone's mood...
"C'mon, man, knock it off." Alex thought. Once the store was empty, it was nearly 3:00, his break time. "Hey, Jeane, can you watch the store?" She was quick to reply, and Alex nodded in response. Leaving the store and into the now overcast day, he made his way to Hermann Park, and his favorite sub sandwich shop.
