Fun but outgrowable

It's interesting to know that for a few of the people that played them there is life after power rangers

Look at Amy Jo Johnson, after power rangers, she became an actress.

One of them is a gay porn actor, another is in jail for murder and another is an undefeated mixed martial arts fighter.

The first several seasons kicked ass. Then they went and ruined it. But then they brought back tommy. But then they ruined it again with the now sterio tyoed characters. Then i saw this thread and i posted a semi cohereant post about it

I wondering if the people t the escapist think of Power rangers?
Since I am the nerd that I am, I secularity love it.
It came around after my time watching kid's programming, and wasn't able to suck me in despite the age differance. "Power Rangers", "VR Troopers", "Big Bad Beetle Borgs", "Masked Rider/Kamen Rider"... none of those really mean much to me.

However I can respect how a lot of my fellow nerds from later generations still like them despite growing up. Much like how I still have fond memories of, and a degree of fandom for things like "The Thundercats", "He-Man and the Masters Of the Universe", "Silver Hawks", and other shows from my own childhood. Pretty much everyone has nostolgia for the stuff done for their generation, and oddly most look down on whatever stuff was made for the up and coming generation.

I stopped with that stuff for the most part before we saw the live-action super hero kids shows craze develop. Things like "The Bionic Six" were right on the edge of my interest in children's block programming, and being a nerd I was interested longer than most (I think Bionic Six was like when I was 13 or 14).

^You forgot that Johnny Yong Bosh(?) is the english voice of everybody that Steve Blum doesn't do, including Vash the Stampeed.

Unfortunatly I've seen screenshots of the supposed "gay porn ranger" and no, it's only a guy with a passing resemblance.

Lastly, the murderer (who was about 14 when he was in a single episode) well, here's a more complete story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Thomas_and_Jackie_Hawks

I have seen at least three (3) episodes of every season. I'm not (too) proud of that, but there it is. I love the show that much.

I watched Power Rangers religiously up to the Lost Galaxy season. I remember enjoying it quite a lot, particularly the episodes where the Rangers of the current season would team up with a veteran from a previous team. Like when the Lost Galaxy team joined up with the Space team to fight the Psycho Rangers? That was pretty awesome.

I watched a little bit of Dino Thunder on YouTube because I heard Tommy was in it and I'm kind of a sucker for throwbacks like that, but outside of that, I haven't followed the series in years. I kind of wonder how it's even still going. Doesn't seem nearly as popular as it was when I was a kid, or at least I never hear any kids talking about it.

I loved it as a kid. Nowadays, not so much. I do, however, appreciate the moments of awesome it is capable of bringing.

For example:
Damn it! Ninja!

I watched one of the series as a kid and absolutely loved it.

Intrigued by these supposed facts, I went and did a little digging. David Yost, the original Blue Ranger, did come out of the closet sometime after leaving the show, but there's no evidence of him doing pornographic work. Jason David Frank, the green/white ranger is indeed undefeated in MMA, but has only had a handful of matches. The kid who murdered his parents was not a fixture of the cast, he only appeared in one episode.

And Amy Jo Johnson has done plenty of acting work in her post-ranger career. She also does a lot of musical work and had a band at one point. Also of note, Thuy Trang, who played the Yellow Ranger originally, died in a car accident in 2001.

That's pretty much everything notable, the other original cast members have gone onto other things.
Damn my unreliable sources..

I'll never trust Rogansboard again.. That may actually be a good thing..

I used to love the Power Rangers, up until the point where Disney decided that they were not worthy of their awesomeness and fucked them up. Johnny Young Bosch all the way, ITS MORPHIN TIME!

Then there is the second black ranger Bosch who has done an ungodly amount of voice acting
