Powerful Game Trailers

My friend just linked me this shiny trailer to a shiny game and whilst is is very SHINY, it is also incredibly emotive. I don't remember the last time (if there was one) I was so blown away by a trailer on an emotional and presentational level. Here it is if you're interested.


And here it is reversed into chronological order, sort of, if you found it hard to follow.
(PS - It's sadder when reversed.)

So what trailers have you seen that blew you away, and why?

The reversed trailer still needs to be tweaked a bit. The parts with the girl running from the zombies are now reversed the wrong way and need to be edited into an earlier part of the video for it to be a continuous scene.

I know, its a difficult clip to reverse. I still think it makes a lot more sense than the original though, from a chronological perspective.

It will make those playing it happy though, those like me. I love co op survival horror games and this one looks like it will be great.

Holy shit. That is a pretty intense trailer. I found that game trailer similar to inFamous escapist showed once, I forgot the name though.

I've always liked the Halo trailers, it's not as powerful as OP's but I still think it's very good. Can't really think of anything else.

Holy shit, that ain't cool. I can honestly say that no game trailer, I've seen, comes close to that. I can honestly say that trailer has harshed my mellow.

Yeah, I can't really think of any emotionally powerful game trailiers at the moment. Usually Publishers or developers try pushing a new feature or technology rather than poigancy in a game trailer.

Though I can see more of this kind of thing in the future of videogames as the race to get the best looking games starts to stagnate (where do you go when game visuals look as good or better than real life?) and the race to make the best stories picks up.

Another zombie game coming? Well, if thats what the people want. Pretty good trailer, I just understand why they decided to make it reversed, it would be much better if they had kept it chronological.

One trailer that amazed me was Mass Effect 2's launch trailer.
The narrative, the music, the scenes, everything is great about this trailer. Besides, i'm a huge Mass Effect fan, so thats one of the reasons I love this trailer so much. Also, you gotta hand it to Two Steps from Hell, they really know how to make some great music for trailers.

Another trailer that amazed me was the E3 2010 trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. This one is purely CG, but I still love it. This is probably the trailer I have seen the most times. Again, the clips and the music is spot on.

Damn it man when I saw the thread title I thought of this game (just saw the trailer 20 minutes ago) Well there are some truly amazing one out there but here are mine in order of how powerful I think they are.
