I think I have a curse when it comes to preordering games. The only games I've loved from Preorders are Portal 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum (and hopefully Arkham City.)
These are the ones that I regret:
-Medal of Honor
-Homefront
-Final Fantasy XIII
-Mirror's Edge
-The Force Unleashed 2 (above all)

Yeah you would think I would learn my lesson, I get really excited over hype. So what are some of your guys'? Even if you don't preorder, just talk about games you regret buying.

Aliens vs. Predator.

I kept telling myself it would be good...

How wrong I was *sigh*

I tend not to pre-order games in general. Not even sure why I did in that instance. May have been cheaper or something and i had more money at the time.

I would say that while there have probably been a few, the one that stands out in my mind was Assassin's Creed. I was so psyched for that game, and then it came out and I honestly didn't like it at all. It didn't do any of the things it promised me it would do. Fortunately, Batman: Arkham Asylum came out, and did all the things I wanted Assassin's Creed to do, plus, it had Batman, so... bonus points.

That said, I still haven't been able to forgive the Assassin's Creed series for that initial disappointment. I hear the latter games have been vast improvements, but I wouldn't know. The first one just turned me off to it, and until that day comes where cosmic rays strike me just right and convince me I have to play it, I think the series is one I shall continue to pass by.

I Pre-ordered The Force Unleashed 2; Now I think about it and Had time to play it.. once. I have not clue why.

Some others were Medal of Honor, Good game in it's own rights but hardly no one is on Multilayer anymore and Blue Dragon A LONG Time ago. good RPG but after an hour I put it down and never picked it up again; it just failed to draw me in.

Pokemon Heartgold and SoulSilver. Don't get me wrong, they're both great games and much better remakes than Firered and Leafgreen, but GOD, they didn't have to be so damn boring.

I got it on launch day, but to this day I never got around to beating the gym leaders.

Bulletstorm. I've heard it's a great game, and I also preordered it to get access to the Gears of War 3 beta. However, shortly after preordering our financial stability took a nose dive, and so I've not been able to fully pay it off and get it. Now the Gears of War beta is going to be over before I can ever play it. I wish I'd just never preordered Bulletstorm to start with.

Fallout: New Vegas. It was a great game, but Christ was the special edition expensive.

Gears of war 2.

I was such a huge fan of the first but the second felt like a ***** slap. Especially since the matchmaking took around 20+ minutes to find 1 game in the first few weeks pre patch.

MW2, but once I found out about the clusterfuck on the PC version I switched it to Mass Effect 2, the limited edition, best decision ever.

The other one is Left 4 Dead 2. The game is awesome, but I hardly play it because I can't stand ragequitters.

L.A. Noire. Not because I'm not looking forward to the game, but because I just realized I have exams the week it comes out, and then a trip to Australia the following week. But now I'm locked into buying it, losing my life to it, failing all my exams, not getting into college, living a terrible life, and getting defecated on by the homeless (or so I'm told).

I thought I was going to regret Brink, but happily I have not. I don't pre-order very many games. I think Portal 2, L4D2, Bad Company 2, and Brink were the only ones I have. There may have been one or two I'm forgetting, but my point is is that I've never regretted a pre-order and don't believe the reviews (entirely) Brink is still a good game.

Hold up, I now recall that I was going to pre-order Dino D-Day. I would have regretted that. Sorely.

I have yet to regret a pre-ordered game, but I came damn close when I almost pre-ordered CoD:Blops. Don't get me wrong, I still went out and bought the game and was ridiculously disappointed, but I didn't pre-order it so it doesn't count here.

back in 04 or early 05 I pre-ordered Jak 3 and haven't pre-ordered anything since. As much as I love the idea of getting a game right away it's much easier on my wallet to wait until most people have played them and then find out if they're worth buying or not.

Assassins Creed 2, but not because of the game mind you, I love me some Italian Renaissance.

So I walk into the store and ask for a preorder copy of Assassins Creed 2 for the PC from an attendant that is obviously new. From this I get a million questions that cause alarm, but not enough to warrant a question from me. Derpy dee derp until two and a half months pass and I go in to collect, they check the receipt and notice that it wasn't a preorder but a delivery order set to arrive in about four days. Clearly not what I wanted but they waived the delivery fee so all's good. I then get told that the delivery was cancelled and that they sent an email to me to say what went wrong, but the previous attendant did not type the email address wrong so some poor sap thinks someone hacked his credit card to buy a game or something. So they decide to hell with it, we'll just give you a copy now and hope that the second copy stays cancelled. I then have to tell them three times that its the PC version, not the PS3, not the Xbox 360, and not Left 4 Dead 2. They then inform me that the PC version is going to be released in 108 days. FFFFFFFFFFFine.

I pre-ordered Alone in the Dark for Wii. That was a mistake. For some reason, I genuinely thought it would be good game. I mean, the first one was great...

Yeah... it was shit.
