That's true. Hopefully it will be more like Morrowind in that all the clothing and armors are stackable and depending on what the top layer doesn't cover, the under layer shows through. I always liked having a robe with huge bonemould shoulderpads on top in Morrowind ;)

I'm going with the heavy armour, sword, shield and destruction magic route I went with last time. It'll probably have to be a Breton again too.

I'm stuck should I play me first or should I play Veldt Falsetto...hmm, the possiblities

Me

I'm a mage...I'm wimpy...

I'd probably just use general elemental magic and assistance magic (like waterwalk, that was cool)

Veldt

I'm a single sword wielder, no shield, but I have block, I'm also quite sneaky and quick.

I dunno never the brute though

Ah yes, I remember being 14 years old and thinking of things like this. Full character specs and talents and such...

But no, I have no plan. I'll just play it and try to have fun. Only decision to make is melee, magic, or bows... usually it's melee.

Puuuure spell caster.
Though I hope to not just go for the straight Damage-Dealing this time.
You know, do some weaknesses and the such, with shield and conjure. That kinda thing.

LOL. You sir are quite funny. Personally, I keep flinging my hands out at people to increase my destruction skills but I have yet to set anyone on fire... maybe I need to bump up my magika first

I can't decide between making a crazy ass dual-wielding warrior type or a dignified all-powerful mage.

The kind that only wears a bare chest and a robe respectively.

I'm sort of worried that dual-wield combat won't look good.

The problem with robes though, is that you have less items on your body to enchant if you wear them. Always bothered me that if you wanted a stylized mage, you would have to give up on greaves/pants for enchanting.

Are you listening, Bethesda? Robes should give some bonus to the enchantments cast upon them!

[sub]Or maybe I should go for the staff+sword travelling wizard, Gandalf style?
Damn you, Bethesda, for giving me so many possibilities...[/sub]
You should make a lazy mage who wears his robe open and name him Lebowski.
Aye! And he should carry a sigil stone around. Preferably one with three holes in it.

Sneaking bowman with a good (possibly magic) sword for backup, pretty much like all my Oblivion characters. Or maybe your standard sword 'n' shield knight with light armor.

theres no classes, they took the cool system out. just another attempt at streamlining. never thought itd happen to elder scrolls. Sure oblivion wasint perfect but it stayed true.

am gonna go play Morrowind on that day and try to think how they could create one of the greatest games ever made (morrowind) then go to this.

Yeah, like all the other people said, the leveling system and all the attributes have been completely redesigned, but I'm going to be...
Probably either a Breton or Khajiit as my race. I went for Breton last time because they have increased grasp on the different kinds of magic, and Khajiit because of their increased skills in stealth attributes.
There aren't any classes, but I'm going to specialize in Marksmanship. It's something I've never really tried and since it's apparently going to be completely redone in Skyrim I want to give it a go. A cat archer that sneaks around sounds like something I could role-play as easily.

In Oblivion i made my character to resemble the main character from the Robin Hobb fantasy books: Fitz. He's a bastard prince, trained in the art of assassination, but also a skilled warrior with uncontrollable magic powers.

Jep, i'm probably gonna use him again in skyrim.

Depending on how the magic system feels, and whether its improved from Morrowind and Oblivion, I'm interested in trying a pure mage this time. Probably a Breton.

If the magic system still doesn't feel fun for me, I'll probably roll a Nord or Orc berzerker.

I don't want to turn this thread into an argument over opinions on the new system, but wanted to say one thing about that:

I see what you're saying and you're right that Morrowind was great, but at the same time, each Elder scrolls game takes a new turn with at least one aspect. For oblivion, they mashed the skills together more, made you choose less of the skills, but also made it really hard to level up anything that wasn't directly combat based because your surroundings would get harder as you did. (For example: the master lockpicking alchemist got raped by storm atronachs)

In Skyrim they are just taking a new path on the system that appears over-simplistic at first, but if you more closely observe it, you'll see it will open up much more customizable builds. You can increase your health w/o having to have some skill that is endurance based. In oblivion, you would have had to either use Heavy armor, Armoring, or Block just to have a non-crappy health bar. That cut's out at least 75% of class felxibility right there.

In essence, if you wanted a spellcasting archer, but you also want a lot of health, you can do it. Basically any combo you wanna make you can make, simply because everything they changed works together very well.

Battle mage, staff in one hand, sword in another, destroying my way through caves and bedrooms. That's right captain awesome is an all rounder...Feel like I'm babbling anyway I'm going to fight with a staff and sword or two swords or just magic, I will be a master of speechcraft and lock picking as well as kickassery. A dark elf who plays by the rules and then stabs you and steals everything not nailed down...That's my style, might write myself a story and give myself a real name.

They got rid of those 2 and replaced it with something else. Sorry no leveling up by jumping and running this time around.

I'll be a lightly armoured, blade and bow wielding Redguard or Dunmer. If I'm a Dunmer I'll probably use destruction magic a bit too, but on the whole I don't use a lot and I can loot enough restore health potions.
