That's actually put me off slightly more, I mean I have been on the fence with this one since it came back into the light but I dont see anything here that makes me want to put time into it.

So, it's Bioshock with prettier graphics.

Well, the atmosphere is subtle as a brick (Do we really need Mister Exposition chatting away in our ear? Surely we can piece all of this together on our own). The "Mimics" and especially the "Phantom" look like unfinished character models and the pacing is inconsistent. Smoosh all of that together with an overall dull introduction and color me unimpressed.

I think I'll give this one a pass, or a major discount.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
It looks pretty neat, its got a pretty strong start. But it still annoys the hell out of me that its called 'Prey.' Why the fuck is it called Prey? I mean I'm sure they will have some reason like "mankind is the prey", but we already have a game called Prey and it was pretty good. This one has nothing to do with it.

So are we just going to be fighting black goo monsters the entire game? Cuz if so, fuck that. Call me picky, but I like some effort to be put in the appearance of the enemies I'm fighting. Resident Evil 7 pulled the same shit and I kindly ignored that game for the same reason.

This is all Alpha Footage right? 'cause it looks just like an asset flip clone of Bioshock with completely random models thrown into a vaguely set up environment. Rabbitman said the monsters looks like unfinished character models and he's right! They totally do!

I have several problems, which I'm hoping they'll work on, though one I'm not sure of.

The first problem is, why is the cursor so low? Is this just how the video makes it seem? Or are they really going for that nauseating Halo/Destiny cursor that Bungie were so keen on using? It seems petty, but if so, that's a no buy for me. I've tried playing Halo 2 and 3, and even Destiny, and for whatever reason, I get a massive headache just from the cursor not being in the exact center of the screen. Does this sincerely not bother anyone else?

Second, like anyone else here, this just looks like Bioshock. Like, almost a carbon copy as far as gameplay goes.

It also doesn't look very good. I know "Graphics aren't everything if the gameplay is good, blah blah blah". It bothers me. Everything just looks boring. The textures are flat, the lighting is passable, but it really just looks like something cranked out of the Unreal Engine 3 in 2011.

This whole game looks kind of boring so far.

*sigh* Maybe I'm being unfair. They still have a couple months to polish it up, and who knows what build this is, but I'm still unimpressed.

Enemies still look boring.

Also, game isn't manly enough.

I had never noticed this about Halo until you just mentioned it. Had to look up some screenshots just to make sure you're not crazy.

This is coming from someone who played Halo CE, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and 4.

So yeah, never had a problem with it and never even noticed it was a thing. I think my mind automatically blocks out everything above the shield bar since it's basically useless space, so that centers the cross hairs in my perception.

Weird how differently people's brains work. I guess it's similar to how some people play inverted and can't understand why everyone thinks they're crazy.

People are saying BioShock, I thought Mirror's Edge at first.

I guess the problem is I play everything on my computer monitor, including console games, and it might be geared more for people who play on TVs (which are usually further away/higher up) as opposed to monitors (which are closer/viewed more from above).

Luckily my monitor is on a completely adjustable stand, so I can raise it as high as I want and that alleviates the issue, but otherwise I feel like my character is walking wih his head tilted up and his eyes lowered to look at the leveled horizon.

Spooky spook world with old wooded rooms and a wrench. I dunno, seemed Bioshocky to me.

'Immersive sim''... I can't get over these dumb names for gaming genres. And reading some of the definitions online it seems like about any RPG or open-world game could be called an immersive sim.

I dont see anything bioshock like in this game. it looks more of Half life and System shock 2. knowing arkane they are master of level design so im expecting this game to be excellent.

That's funny, cause Bioshock was just System Shock 2 underwater with more refined action.

And I highly doubt this game is going back to System Shock 2 like RPG mechanics, so yes, this is quite like Bioshock.

It has a foreboding atmosphere. The earliest weapons looks like a wrench and a single barrel shotgun. And there's also a weapon that freezes enemies. And you loot various things. And there are health pack stations in the walls. And other pre-release videos show off special powers that allow you to posses objects likely other things.

The environment might echo System Shock to a degree, but I highly doubt it will play like System Shock.

The guy hates Bioshock (it's either not old school enough or not manly enough, don't remember). He'll never admit to Prey looking anything like it. :p

Bioshock absolutely suck and it was incredibly scripted and linear compare to system shock. infact bioshock was poor mans system shock.

Arkane people are consist of old looking glass studio veteran. and system shock 2 is one of the greatest game of all time. now im not expecting it to be masterpiece like system shock. that will be system shock remake and system shock 3 in future.

but what im expecting it to be like closest thing to system shock this generation we never had since 1999.

Well I got bored of the video before the 10 minute mark, cause it's basically just a long, slow tutorial, but that tutorial is just screaming "SOMA" to me and it's as if you get to play the "interview" portion at the beginning of that game. It isn't blowing me away though with anything, and I was never really too interested in the game to begin with, so bad video?

I'm starting to think B-Cell might just be an Arkane employee trying to distribute hype about their game while maintaining B-Cell's... unique personality.
