Alcohol also tastes very nasty. So that is three reasons for you.
What religion is that?

Islam. Islam prohibits all drugs, especially alcohol.

I think it's fantastic stuff, especially when combined with lemonade or red bull.

[sub]Seriously, double-vodka-lemonades and Jagerbombs are the shit![/sub]

I drink socially at parties, rarely get pissed, never had a hangover, but DON'T TRUST A POLE TO MIX A DRINK - they have slightly different standards as to the correct amount of vodka to add to the coke. Well, with them it's more how much coke you add to the vodka :p Yeah, only time I've been sick off of alcohol, but was compus enough to take care of myself.

I like to drink occasionally, and I never do it to get drunk. In fact, I only ever intentionally got drunk once and then once on accident cause I wasn't the one making drinks and had 3 before I realized they had like 3 times the amount of alcohol I would have used. I'll have a drink or two out with friends and sometimes I may have a friend over and we'll toss in a movie and order a pizza and I'll drink a beer that will usually last me the entire movie.

I don't smoke because it's bad for you and I hate smelling like smoke. On the other hand, drinking in moderation is fine. You'd have to drink lots of alcohol on a regular basis to mess up your liver in the long-term, but a drink or two once in a while (even one every night) is fine.

i drink only socially, and not much for that matter, one time i got (as it will happen to everyone at least once, mark my words) so drunk that next morning i didnt remember anything, and didnt like that sensation, most people i know do like that and drink overboard, but i personally control myself pretty well, its like, i know the point in which im feeling good, but i know drinking more will be a mistake so i stop.

I have to question the thought behind this thread, "it has been done a million times, so lets do it again". Especially since the exact same thing was a subject to a thread yesterday.

On topic.

I haven't had a drink in over 3 years. I am not opposed to drinking, I am opposed to the amount the western world drinks.

It seems alcohol is like air, have it with everything. Long day? Booze, your having a meal? Booze, your celebrating or mourning? Booze, your bored? Booze, you want something to drink While watching TV/film? Booze. It's Friday/Saturday and your going out? Booze.

In all the above examples you never have the "RDA" of alcohol, do you? You always have 5 or 6 pints which is technically binge drinking, even though you feel no effect. Which is a shocking fact in it'self.

I will drink to celebrate or whatever but doing it just 'cos it's there is stupid, to me anyway. Like why do you have to go to a pub and buy booze to have a good conversation? Can't you go "Friends" style and go to a coffee shop, spend half as much and still have a good chat?

To those saying "I like it for the taste", it reminds me of a joke. "I like the taste of tea, that doesn't mean I drink 10 pints a night!", which if you apply it to tea makes it seem insane. If somebody said to that to you, you would burst out laughing but if somebody says that about booze it sounds like there bragging, to which you come back with your "HA! I drank 10 pints of ... then I had 5 shots of ... follwed by 3 crazy cocktails I would never order sobre".

i drink at parties, and i only really drink to get drunk, because otherwise, it's more expensive than coke, and it endows me amazing dancing and rapping powers, if i liked dancing or rapping this would be a pro

If tea was as good cold as it is warm people would definitely drink it ALWAYS.
Like they do with ice-tea. (I don't like ice-tea though, lot of people do)

Not into the whole "partying" lifestyle, mainly because I've been to plenty of parties and I've never had fun. That simple.

I like getting drunk with a few friends, but only if you can trust the people you're with, and the only friend of mine who likes to drink is more or less completely untrustworthy. I'm probably not gonna drink much more until I'm 21, just so it doesn't have to be such a big freakin' deal.

I'm 18 and I've never had any alcohol. Partly for health reasons, but mainly because I just don't want to. I have no problem with people who drink responsibly, but people my age tend to drink to the point of passing out, and they're not very good company after that. It does get annoying once people start drinking, they forget that I don't and keep offering me drinks and won't take no for an answer. Whenever I hang out with my friends, me and my one other friend who doesn't drink tend to just watch the drunken antics.

You only pay taxes on what you don't make yourself. I can't remember the last time I paid a food and beverage tax or alcohol tax for buying alcohol.

Lipton ice tea tastes like water, even the flavoured ones seem more watery then actual flavour.

Tried them?

I enjoy a shot or twelve from time to time, whiskey mostly, love the taste. Its very hard to get me drunk(too expensive as well) so i don't do it often. Don't really care for beer though or maybe i've just never found one i like. I can have plenty of fun without alcahol, but i still enjoy a nice buzz.

Love alcohol. Yes I do enjoy the now rare occasion of going out and getting a bit drunk.

But from being a stupid 13/14 year old to now 21, I've grown up a lot and now know how to respect alcohol a lot better and enjoy it more without getting so shit face I literaly cannot remember anything or how I got home..
