He was probably banned because he offended a lot of people, myself included. Probably because we kept reporting him.
Don't give me all the "He was funny, har har har". I think Max was a massive dick. You think he was funny? Lovely. He had funny moments, sure. Mostly, though, he was just disrespectful.

Always. If someone has an opinion on a subject I am interested in, I want to hear it.

Most of the time it is mindless conjecture, "You're an idiot that don't understand nuffink" type thing, but sometimes it is valid discussion with, arguably, poor word choice that is being punished with no sense of context. An example:

"You're a moron." A comment casting character aspersions on another; in my opinion an instant suspension for showing no respect or tolerance.

"Don't be a moron." A comment that implies that you feel someone is selling themselves short by not articulating their point properly and therefore should only be moderated if it is not backed up with considered opinion.

Also, take the tone of the thread into account. If the original post is "What is your favourite cheese?" then don't moderate someone for low content posts, but do moderate someone who has nothing to say other than the discussion is pointless/illogical/trivial. IF YOU FIND THE DISCUSSION POINTLESS THEN DON'T FUCKING JOIN IN!

Also, also, why is saying "that made me laugh", "I agree" and so forth, given low content warnings, but 'Grammar Nazis' get away with adding absolutely nothing to the debate?

This, although I occasionally read what thread that they were on to kinda "filter" which ones I'll go to

Oh yeah, he was a massive dick. But he was somehow known by most of the people, and I wondered why. I figured he had to be funny. But I never saw him post anythig particularly inelligent, and as soon as I had gotten a bit into the community he 'left'.

I love to do that. It helps me get an idea as to exactly what it is that the mods don't like to see. I believe that the whole purpose of having the clickable link to the offending post is for just that purpose.

I do, especially as of late, and as I've had a few warnings and stuff recently for questionable reasons.

I also like to see, if that person was probated for a proper reason, if the other person who was likely involved was probated. Seems to be that if you get sweary first, you're banned/probated first, without much consideration of what the other person was saying.

Nah. I got put on probation once for posting a comment on a new video while I was watching it and since then, I've stopped nosing into what people got the scepter of mod-wrath for out of respect for the user.

Most of the time.

What's really, really perplexing is when it's someone with several thousand posts and they say something really, utterly moronic and get banned. I can't help but wonder what was going through their heads.

And I predict several warnings issuing from the sentiments of a few in this thread.

I always do. At first I would always get small pangs of guilt because it wasn't really my business, but now I don't care because as a few people have said, it can be hilarious.

Every time. Half out of curiosity and half to see what they did so I don't repeat it. It's funny what some people do to get in trouble. My favorite is when they get put on probation then edit the probation post to ***** and end up getting suspended.
This pretty much. Some of them are pretty funny but all of them have a lesson to teach. Usually that lesson is "don't be a retard, you retard!"

He was just known because he posted a lot.
You don't need me to start namedropping. A lot of posters are "known" regardless of the content of their post, simply because they have 10k+ posts.

Max had a following. They certainly thought he was funny.

Who was Max?

Also yeah, I enjoy looking at what people get modded for, to see if I agree or not, to see some of the mindless crap etc. It will often lead to me new threads which I wouldn't have found otherwise, then I can enjoy the back and forwards :3

I just wish they weren't really strict about some things like "low content posts" and such, since a lot of things seem to go un-modded that genuinely deserve to not be there. I've had a few probations and warnings for things I didn't think I deserved at all, but they don't reply to my forms, so not much I can do.

Are the links in red fonts? Hell yeah! Anything that's colorful is attention-worthy! Put 'em in caps too!

Kidding aside, usually yeah. Makes me mad when people get suspended or banned for making personal attacks, even when making articulate contributions to the discussion.

Furburt was very amusing. Especially when teaming up with Hubilub. But it's true, lots of posts somehow mean status.

Yeah, they were amusing. I kinda miss them both. Hubilub ate a requested ban, and Furburt just decided to stop posting >.>
Would have been nice if they were still around and active nowadays >.>
I think they left because of Demented Teddy's perma-ban >.>
Oh well, maybe they will let her back one day... I kinda hope so. Others have come back from more than one perma ban, and one of the mods was perma-banned once before he got his position >.>

A while before you joined, guy, there was a user named "MaxTheReaper". No use going into detail about him or his behaviour. He was permanently banned and, to me, that is certainly a good thing.

You know, I'm of the complete opposite opinion(on those users).
Let us just leave this discussion at that, though - it's getting increasingly off-topic :)
