***** PROBLEMS WITH THE PITT - XBOX ENGLISH VERSION:

Okay here?s the latest. Our team is doing some final checks late tonight and if everything looks okay, we are hopeful it will be back up and available tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for your patience.

Left by gstaff on March 24th, 2009

******* UPDATE:

When they fix the problem, you will have to delete the corrupt version on your hard drive. Go to Memory, games, Fallout 3, and scan down till you find The Pitt, delete, yes.

Then just go to view your downloads. When you find The Pitt, re-download it.

Don't try and re-download till BethSoft announces they have repaired the corrupt copy.

******* UPDATE:

The Pitt should be ready for download March 25, remember to DELETE the corrupt download and corrupt saves BEFORE re-downloading the fixed DLC.

******* UPDATE 3/26/09

Apparently there are still some problems with the repaired version of The Pitt. I would suggest deleting the download from the hard drive if you had a corrupt download, cleaning the hard drive cache, then try and re-download it. Do a soft cache cleaning when loading up the game as well. If you haven't done your XBox maintenance in a while, do it now.

Also, for anyone ordering it for the first time, check the price before ordering, it seems some person at XBox Live (probably the same person who scanned the master disk with a magnet) has accidentally loaded it in at 1200 points instead of 800 in certain areas.

When you start playing The Pitt, keep one save that is before you downloaded The Pitt. Do not delete that save just in case there are problems, so you will have an un-corrupt place to return to till these bugs are worked out.

The Bethesda Blog has temporarily closed down while they work on these problems (since they got over 550 emails) so as soon as I hear something I will post it here

dnt think the link is working :S
I just checked it, it is working. It brings you to Major Nelson's page. There is the bottom part of one (like a youtube vid without the vid portion). Click on the arrow to start the interview, and then scan ahead to 23:02

I've not played Anchorage yet, but The Pitt certainly looks interesting. I'll definitely be taking a look with my new ninja character (close combat and pistol orientated, main weaopns of choice, currently the chinese officer's sword and the dart gun. Has over 60 ranks of sneak at Level 8)

Wow, you built the sneak up fast! Oh, if you ever do get Anchorage, at the end you get the Chinese General's sword, it is an enhanced Chinese Sword with shock. I love it

Oh, and you also get a ninja outfit. When you are walking around it looks like regular armor, but the minute you go into the sneak position it is like using a Stealth Boy.

Sounds like I'll have to check it out.
And yeah, I really did build it up quick. I took the perk that grants more skill points, went for 7 Intelligence and picked up the Intelligence Bobblehead, so skill points ftw.

I'll have to try that next game. I want to play another game to play Anchorage again, it was a blast! You can only go there once per game, but every time you start a new one you can go back, so I keep two games running. I will start a third and try out doing that, because you really got your sneak high quickly! I got my sneak up to 100 on the character that is level 20, but my other is up to level 14 and is just hitting 65 on the sneak.

The Pitt better be good after that Anchorage disappointment. Does Bethesda honestly think myself and five other troops storming a small facility is as epic as that battle was suppost to be? What a major letdown.

Indeed, Anchorage was so detached from the usual Fallout 3 gameplay which didn't work for it. Pitt sounds like it's going back to formula so I'll be looking forward to it.

And wow mALX you are one massive Fallout 3/Oblivion fan.

For max skill points start with 9 int, 6 luck, and run to get the Int bobblehead as soon as you leave the vault (before levelling to 3). With the Lucky Shades, Ranger Combat Armour, Luck Bobblehead, and Lucky 8 Ball you'll hit 10 luck, which gives you +5 to all skills and a nice crit rate, especially with something like the Deathclaw Gauntlet (you can get that over 100% crit rate)

You don't really need the extra skill points from the perk, but take Comprehension (double SP from books), there are something like 30 of each book in the game, and bobbleheads for every skill, so you can easily max out all the skills if you're dedicated.

That said, I'm waiting for Broken Steel before I buy any of the fallout DLC, then I'm going to do a new character and do it all at once.

This isn't working....

I scrub through to 23:02 and they're still talking about NFS: Shift.

My troops never showed up, not sure where they went. I had to battle it out alone, and died like a hundred times because of those invisible ninjas. It was a blast! I loved it, and I loved the great loot I got from it. Fawkes was waiting for me outside the building, and even with him to help me carry I had to make several trips back to load up the loot!

I thought the major battle they spoke of was the one coming up in the Brotherhood of Steel DLC.

He may for a few seconds into it. I stopped fast forwarding at 23: and he wound down the interview about the ball game right at the very end of 23:02, then introduced Todd. What you can do is scan till you hear Todd's voice, Todd has a very distinctive voice. (that's what I did).

Is anyone else having a problem with the player? Maybe the player has broken. I'll go check it again.

Guilty. On how different Anchorage was in comparison to the formula; I think it was the same with Shivering Isles in Oblivion, it was totally different from Oblivion, while Knights of the Nine fit right in with Oblivion. In the interview Todd talks about that, and why they did it that way. I didn't have a Fallout background, so I was just open minded for whatever they threw at me, and I loved it. It was kind of an FPS type atmosphere, and I'm all about RPG, but it was still fun, and really a decent addition I thought. When they make their GOTY they will probably add all three of these DLC on the disk.

I'm not really looking to maximise anything. I play more with whatever takes my fancy and my own skills.
I'm not opposed to hunting down bobbleheads, of course. Both cool and beneficial.
