And yeah, I really did build it up quick. I took the perk that grants more skill points, went for 7 Intelligence and picked up the Intelligence Bobblehead, so skill points ftw.
For max skill points start with 9 int, 6 luck, and run to get the Int bobblehead as soon as you leave the vault (before levelling to 3). With the Lucky Shades, Ranger Combat Armour, Luck Bobblehead, and Lucky 8 Ball you'll hit 10 luck, which gives you +5 to all skills and a nice crit rate, especially with something like the Deathclaw Gauntlet (you can get that over 100% crit rate)

You don't really need the extra skill points from the perk, but take Comprehension (double SP from books), there are something like 30 of each book in the game, and bobbleheads for every skill, so you can easily max out all the skills if you're dedicated.

That said, I'm waiting for Broken Steel before I buy any of the fallout DLC, then I'm going to do a new character and do it all at once.

Oh, you have this down to a science!! I am copying this and going to try it. My first character (female/good) was really strong and all the stats and SPECIAL were pretty level with eachother, but my second character is awful! He (male/evil, lol) is weak as a cat, can't sneak, can't aim, etc. lol.

Oh, I get that perk every time because I don't follow the quests till I have explored every inch of the wasteland. I get every possible skill book, all the rare weapons and armor I can get my hands on, etc. Then I start doing the side and misc. quests, and lastly do the main questline. I thought the main questline was really over scripted, but it had three really awesome scenes in it.

Oh, and if anyone has been able to get that skill book in that vault with the Mirelurks (the skill book that is under a stool that has a Nuka-Cola Quantum on it, hidden in a corner behind those large plastic looking crates); please tell me how, because I can't get no matter what I try.

It's actually playing at 11:40 for me. (The Todd Howard interview I mean)
Oh, I wonder if he deleted some of the first interview? Thanks for the info, that will help others that may be having the same problem.

I've not played Anchorage yet, but The Pitt certainly looks interesting. I'll definitely be taking a look with my new ninja character (close combat and pistol orientated, main weaopns of choice, currently the chinese officer's sword and the dart gun. Has over 60 ranks of sneak at Level 8)

Oh, and you also get a ninja outfit. When you are walking around it looks like regular armor, but the minute you go into the sneak position it is like using a Stealth Boy.
Sounds like I'll have to check it out.
And yeah, I really did build it up quick. I took the perk that grants more skill points, went for 7 Intelligence and picked up the Intelligence Bobblehead, so skill points ftw.
Something that he didn't mention was that if you get a sneak kill with the shock sword, its an instant kill on pretty much everything. Considering you have a suit that has unlimited stealth potential...

I was so excited about your formula for making my character powerful that I missed this sentence in your response, sorry. - that's a good idea, I just get a headache if I don't get the DLC the second it is available, lol. They spend all that money in advertising and putting out trailers to build up the anticipation, so by the time they release it I'm in a frenzy getting to the XBox Live screen, lol.

By the way, are you on a console or PC?

Anchorage was a pretty poor DLC to be honest except for a few nice items like the Power Armour that never needs repairing (bug i think). It was just so short but the action was ok but nothing large scale like they had us expecting.

Lets hope the Pitt is better.
The Pitt to me looks like it is going to be harder than Anchorage.

They said in The Pitt if you join the slaves to sneak in you have to drop your weapons and armor, so I am hoping to just sneak in so I can keep mine.

Sounds good to me. My usual tactic with sneak kills has been to lob a grenade first in VATS, then strafe with a silenced pistol or dart gun, then charge forward.

Ok, I guess it's more like an Assault Space Marine than a ninja, but I wanted to go an alternative route to big guns and rifles.

I sometimes think about making videos of my experiences, but honestly, technology is against me there. I wouldn't know where to begin. Just check my youtube videos under this name if you want proof.

I don't know, from what I've seen of the Fallout 3 DLC it all looks closer to Horse Armor than Shivering Isles on the coolness scale.

I'm more interested in the GECK levels other gamers are making than paying for the (so far) uninspiring dlc.

Wake me up when their next game comes out, I just got to make sure I get the PC version when it does come out; the console versions are gimpy when you consider all the mods available on the PC.

If you're really spectacularly thorough, you can get all skills to 100 with a starting intelligence of 3, and luck of 5, but you'll need four luck boosting items to get luck to 9, which is it's max bonus to skills. (The bobblehead gives you 4, which you need for Comprehension, then there are 50 points per skill from books (except melee weapons and barter, which are 49 and 48 respectively), 10 per skill from the bobbleheads, and the rest from your levelups and luck bonus.) You'd have to really track your skill point spending on that though, and you'd only have 10 or so left over.

Also, having a high starting Intelligence maxes you out faster, of course.

And having at least 5 starting Intelligence allows you to do the Power of the Atom quest as soon as you leave Vault 101, getting you a house straight away.

In fact, I think the ultimate minmax build would be:

8 Str, boost to 10 with Ant Might and Bobblehead
5 Per, boost to 7 with Shady Hat and Bobblehead
9 End, boost to 10 with Bobblehead
1 Cha, boost to 2 with Bobblehead (can you say Dump Stat)
3 Int, boost to 4 with Bobblehead
9 Agi, boost to 10 with Bobblehead
5 Luck, boost to 9 with Bobblehead, Lucky Shades, Ranger Combat Armour, Lucky 8 Ball

That gives you all the physical stats (melee damage, carry weight, HP, and AP) at max, enough skill points to max out if you're very careful, and a character who is a demon with every kind of guns, melee, and unarmed out of the box. Pick Lockpick, Science, and Repair as your tag skills (but you do that anyway, don't you?). Charisma is a born dump stat in this game, because all the perks for it are crap, and it's only tied to two relatively pointless skills, whereas Agility is tied to 3 good ones. 4 points taken off of Charisma and given to Agility gives you a profit of 8SP.

Edit: Having worked it out, this build gives you 1344 skill points by level 20 with the selected equipment, which is every skill at 100 with 44 left over if you get every book and bobblehead, and that's with no picks in Intense Training for more SPECIAL points)

No, it is single player, no Live needed at all.

So if I give my buddy the money for the MS points, he can download it to a usb and install it onto my hard drive?
