I always leave shit to the very last day granted I know I can do it. If it's a bigger project that can't be done in one day, I'll start two or three days before it's due.

I amA terrible procrastinator, I will put something off until the last minute and then I'm almost kicking mysellf because of it. Mowing the lawn, doind assessments, doing jobs in general in fact anything that's boring I will substitute for something fun.
Both of you pretty much mirror my thoughts on this. Fortunately for most procrastinators, we tend to work well under pressure. Mostly because we haven't got a choice, but I digress.
Procrastinating isn't always necessarily a bad thing, though.
In her book "The Hard Truth About Soft Skills" Peggy Klaus writes:
"Procrastination typically gets a bad rap. Its become synonymous with avoidance behaviour and being lazy, irresponsible, or a goof-off. But sometimes your procrastination is trying to tell you something, and not paying attention to it can create big problems."
She goes on to say that a lot of times, especially in a creative situation, you may need time for your ideas to "percolate" rather than just running head-on into the project, guns blazing, without being fully prepared. I know that's been my downfall a few times, like when I'm designing a website for instance. I've lost entire days' worth of work because I jumped into it without stopping and thinking, and wasted a bunch of time on extraneous crap.
So yeah, I put things off. Sometimes its the aforementioned avoidance behaviour, (like thinking a client is pissed off at you so you ignore their eMails for a few days) but for the most part I just like to have a mental plan in place before I go ahead with anything.

ButanicXpandA pointed out, if I have something boring I have to do (like coding) I'll put it off in favour of something fun (like photoshopping), but the truth is I'd rather be playing video games or having sex. Just thought I'd throw that in there...
Besides, I'm one of the original members of Generation X, so I'm
supposed to be lazy...
