Procrastination. Do you use the Escapist for it?

I know I certainly do. For example, right now or say, yesterday. I'm really good with anything else that is normally used to procrasintate as I just avoid it.

For example, if I have something to do which I don't want to I will not turn on any consoles, the tv or open any dvd/game cases. That way I avoid the "I'll just play this arcade game, it's not a real game anyway..." or "Just one episode of Heroes, maybe two..."

But with the escapist being just 2 clicks away from BlackBoard I find it so hard to resist the Siren's call.

For those of you who haven't used it, BlackBoard is a portal that is used for lecturers to upload important files and links so that all students can access them. For example slides for the next lecture's powerpoint so we can print them out before-hand and write notes on them in class, or marking criteria for an upcoming assignment etc.

I was just curious to see how many others are guilty of this, and yes I'm going to go study now.

Maybe I'll hang out some washing first...

This and TVtropes seem to pull me in, make me forget what time it is, and then have to stay up late to finish my term paper. God damn it.

Yeah, I can understand the accidental spending of hours upon hours on here without knowing it. The misses gets antsy if I'm on here while she's in the room because I shut out all other senses but sight so that I can... read more efficiently?

I'm half way through writing a two page thing on the American Flag in World War 2 for one of my Uni classes. I would have finished it an hour ago if it weren't for the Escapist. Yes, I do use the Escapist for procrastination, but not intentionaly. It usually just "Happens"

So now I'm talking about procrastinating on the Escapist...while procrastinating on the Escapist...froody...

Sometimes I do, but most of the times procrastination leads to playing a random flash game.

It's pretty amazing how much time I can spend doing absolutely nothing on this site, especially when I have much more important things to do. So yes.

Yeap, but not right now. Right now I am rejoicing in the fact I managed to get my coursework in before it's deadline.

At this very moment, I'm putting off getting some badly needed sleep and going through the forums, so yeah, I guess I use Teh 'Pist as a procrastination utensil from time to time. Lately, I haven't had time to procrastinate, though...amazingly enough.

Oh my lord...like you would not believe. If I could count the hours I've spent procrastinating on here, I could have another lifetime. Okay, that's a little exaggerating, but still. I spend a helluva lot of time on this site, and most of the time it's putting off work of some kind.

Looks at post count..

Yes.

Actually, I usually procrastinate by writing reviews (which are for the site) so I guess that counts too.

Doing it right as I type this and I do so frequently, wasting god only knows how many hours as time simply flies by. Granted I have an abundance of free time, thus no harm, no foul I suppose.
