My procrastination would've been taken care of by now so I COULD deal with the assignment in question. Mine is a constructive procrastination that allows for such things. Your problem is inspiration, and the lack thereof.
Here I was thinking it was more motivation. But I think thats the same, or similar thing :p
He has the motivation, otherwise he wouldn't be asking for help under the point of "Oh crap, I need to get my work done!". I say inspiration because he doesn't know what the hell to put down. To which, all I can say without knowing the subject is that you CAN lead them along with bullshit, so long as it is some very clever bullshit. (This works in creative writing, english literature, and philosophy at least.)

Just make yourself do it. Lately I've been having to write about 40-45 pages a week in essay form for my various classes, and I just do NOT want to do any of them, but I force myself to do it anyways. It's part of growing up, I guess, I didn't used to be able to make myself do anything. Good luck.

Get yourself caffeine and plan some breaks. Then just power through it, all the time getting excited for your next break. Also, if you can work in a nap, that'll help.

Think of something fun you can do afterward, e.g. play a a musical instrument, play a game. Turn off the internet (assuming you don't need it to work) then hop to it. Also, if you can, remove any other distractions from the room. These are things that help me, even though I've never gone so far as to disconnect from the internet.

Make topics about procrastination of forums. Always helps me!

But seriously, I have no idea how to beat it. It's the reason I wasn't much of a student back in high school.

There is no such thing as a TAFE assignment, stop spreading lies.

I joke, er, get off the Escapist! Go, NOW!
Haha I wish there were no such things as TAFE assignments =( Web design ones are the hardest in my opinion.

Practically have a degree in it, do it all the time. Can be distracted by shiny things  oh look there's one now....

I do my college work on the same computer I game on, surprisingly its not that I get distracted by though. Its food tea and cigarettes that take most of my time when I'm trying to study not the internet/games like I'd have expected.

Procrastination might as well be my middle name - I always tell myself that I won't do it, and I'll finish all my assignments ahead of time, but 9 times out of 10, I end up completing them the night before.

This isn't only small things - even if I have a 1500 word essay due the next day, I'll probably just sit at my computer, screwing around (largely on the Escapist ;p), not starting the actual assignment until around 10:30 or 11:00 pm. Even then, I'll stop after every 2 or 3 paragraphs and go back to screwing around. It led to me staying up all night for the first time this semester.

I have my first final exam this tuesday, and, surprise surprise, I have yet to start studying. I really wish I knew a way to stop this horrible work habit I have, but I don't. Actually, that's a lie - if I leave my house and go to a library or something, I get a lot more work done.... as long as I don't bring my computer with me.

Gotta remember to tell that to potential rape victims...

Oh, yeah, right, procrastination. Uhm.

Uhhhhhmmmmmm....

...

I can't be asked to finish this post. I'll do it later.

(I use humor to procrastinate. Then, I use long, drawn-out explanations about why I procrastinate to procrastinate even further, even though I'm certain about %50 of people realize what I'm doing as I'm doing it, and neglect to read any further, realizing it to be an excersize in futility to continue to do so. I mean, I could ramble on all day about why I procrastinate, but the stunning irony of the situation just never seems to hit me. I mean, sure, I just typed that sentence, which should have clued me in, being I was the one who wrote it, but I'm typing at a pretty blinding speed here. Oh, yeah, I'm a pretty fast typist too. Wanna see how fast I can type? Check this out. Rubber baby buggy bumpers. That just took me, like, 2 seconds to type out. Heck, even less for that last sentence. But I digress, I have things to do, but I have loads of other things I need to get out of the way first. Which reminds me...)

That's just gold. Nice work.

Oh and I found out that the work I was supposed to be doing isn't due till the end of the week. Time to kick my feet back and relax until the night before it's due.

I find thinking about how much you're wasting by not doing the work helps a lot (likely to be money if it's any form of school). Also, thinking about why you decided to do commit to doing the work in the first place. Remember the purpose of the work, and where it will take you, not how little you want to do it.

I find myself maintaining the 'CANNOT BE ARSED physio-mentality' more often than I'd like. (To Paraphrase Yahtzee)

I end up cramming near the end of deadllines, which isn't healthy at all but so far has produced five star material. I'm too scared to break the pattern :)

ill answer your question later.
Haha, winnage.

Yes, I procastinate a shitload. It's inherent to ADHD. Come to think of it, I'm on my meds right now. I shouldn't be procastinating. I SHOULDN'T BE HERE ON THE ESCAPIST.
Aye, ADHD is a *****. I stopped taking my meds years ago... maybe I should go back on them? Do they make you shakey? They turned me into a viabrator.
Yeah, kind of. Although I already have that without meds, but less severe. I'm not on my meds most of the time, but with the exams coming up, I thought, why the hell not.

I solved my procrastination by dropping out of art so i wouldn't have anything i need to do...well still stuff i need to do but i forget that stuff so it doesnt matter anyway....wait does sitting in the sun for six hours drinking beer with friends instead of doing 6 weeks worth of art work due for the next day count as procrastination
