Protaganists that would make great boss battles.

What protaganists that you play as in a game would make great boss battles? Really important main characters may also apply.

For example Alex Mercer in Prototype has become a near God by the end, he would make an epic boss battle for someone or another.
Perhaps Link or Samus could be pretty cool bosses for someone to fight?

Who do you think would make a great final boss battle?

Having played Prototype 2, I can assure you that Mercer did not make for much of a boss fight.

Chell from Portal. So long as everything was coated in moon dust, that could be one crazy showdown.

I don't know. If he uses the same tactics against me that I use against DE:HRs bosses, he'll be a horribly cheap boss.

Well... several of the enemies in DE:HR used Typhoons. It didn't break the game.

On the other hand, if he used my tactics, it would be even worse. You'd walk into the boss fight area, stand around feeling confused for a few seconds then spontaneously pass out.

Kratos from God of War should be on the top of one of these kinds of lists. He's already basically a villain anyway.

Would have been crazy if he was the antagonist in the second one (As if the bad ending was canon)

Might have made Bioshock 2 tie in better, in any case. Don't get me wrong though, I love me some bioshock 2.

Oh, and the Hero of Oakvale (Fable: The Lost Chapters) if he chose to wear the mask... I kind of want that to happen now.

Im thinking the player character in Dark souls could work, wasn't Gwynn essentially a player with some bigger attacks too? Maybe give the player some of the higher level AOE spells and boom! Boss battle.

Other than him I guess Bayonetta would make one awesome boss, or War from Darksiders, Kiryu from Yakuza, Batman... I could name a lot.

Most protagonists would fit this due to the powerful abilities they have by the end of their games, plus the fact that they're used to fighting bosses even stronger than themselves, so a realistic depiction would have good AI. Hence why so many games have 'clone' battles, or a villain very similar in fighting style to the hero.

That said, we haven't seen a fight against Travis Touchdown yet (Henry doesn't count)...

I'll tell you one protagonist who was indeed a boss fight in the next game: Kyle Katarn in Jedi Academy (if you went dark side). And the man fights dirty.

As for a protagonist/major character I'd like to see as a boss fight... the King/Queen of Albion from Fable 3. And I don't mean as an end boss. I mean as the boss at the end of the first act. And once he/she dies, Theresa shows up to tell you that by killing the monarch (whether they were good or evil), you screwed up royally (nyuk nyuk nyuk) and that you have to go on a quest to avert a pending disaster (or some such) that has been set in motion by their death.

Wow, given this forum, I would have already expected my answer to be ninja'd.

Gordon Freeman. Why? Because the ************ can carry over 10 guns, withstand missiles at close range, fight off an alien army or two and still be enough of a nerd to help develop a few teleportation systems while he's at it. The man is God incarnate.

Asbel's guard slips and Lambda takes over his body and starts attacking everyone in it and BAM, boss battle. Also, it's impossible to defeat Lambda WITHOUT killing Asbel.

Amaterasu from Okami. She's only the Goddess of the Fucking Sun. Cool boss battle right? XD

Oh and Bayonetta. She'd be a freakin' difficult boss battle. Especially if you didn't have four guns and a dodge button that dodges everything to fight her with...

And any League of Legends Champion. They are all highly skilled badasses fighting other badasses until a team wins after all. Katarina would be a ***** for example. Constant teleports all over the place! Plus she has a Spin2Win Ultimate. She'd just rock the fuck out of any ordinary game protaganist

Though Cho'Gath would be more standard boss material. Doing well against him? NOM NOM NOM! suddenly he's fucking massive just won't die. Have fun!
