Razi?s eyes fluttered open just as they did the day before and the day before that and the day before that. This was not the lifestyle that she had in mind when she was told of the offer. As she waited for the scientists to come to her room, she thought. She was told that she would be able to help the human race in a way that it wasn?t possible to describe! Then, they went on to describe all the different ways she?d be able to use the powers granted to her to help those in Africa in destitute conditions. She was to be the ideal human. People from all different countries would see how truly powerful humans could be in their drive to peace and solving all of the problems the world faced.
?They lied to me.? Razi had an epiphany. ?Those greedy men! They knew that I would be able to see my goals through in helping humanity. They knew that one day there would be peace and no need for the use of money anymore. Humans would be all equal and all free. But no, they knew of my dreams and they crushed them. The destroyed my dreams in the instant I arrived here. It just took me a whole year to realise what they had done to me. All this power, it wasn?t to rid the world of mistakes and to help man kind, it was to be a machine.? Her anger rose the more her mind developed this lie. ?Well, if they wanted a machine, then they made one. I will show them just what I have become and how dangerous crushing my purpose can be!?
The angered girl sat on her bed and waited for the scientists to come. I was going to be an interesting day. No more would she follow through with the experiments or the lab testing or eating the disgusting food.
There was a knock at her door and her voice was a sweet as ever, ?Come in!?
An older man, late forties, opened the door and asked, ?Are you ready for the testing??
?The same as every day.? She smiled sweetly, ?I know how important they are to realising when I will be ready.?
The man smiled and gazed at her for a brief moment, but Razi recognized it as potential for her. ?Alright, let?s get moving.?
Razi walked towards the door and before stepping through, she gently placed her hand on the scientist?s cheek. ?Thank you. I know that all of the work that you and the others are doing is very important.?
The man stood awkwardly for a moment, not really knowing how to react. Though, it was obvious that he saw her hand on his face as something more than jus a friendly moment. ?Um, uh, oh, right, let?s go to the café- no wait, the lab. Sorry.?
Inside, Razi smiled. It was going to be fairly easy to escape from her prison.
Later that day, she ran into the scientist that came to her room this morning. ?Oh, Razi, hi. Are you off on a break now??
?Yes, I am.? She walked close to him, ?But, there?s something that I want to know.?
?Uh. Ye- yes?? He stuttered.
?I was brought up learning that to have power, comes responsibility. What happens if I cannot control that power and fall away from my responsibility?? Razi began twisting the scientist?s curly hair in her hand.
Again, the man stuttered, ?Uh...um... I shouldn?t really be telling you this, but there is a self- self dest-destruct button in one of the main watching rooms.? He started sweating and breathing heavier.
?And, where is this room?? She stood on her toes; her 5?4 couldn?t match his height. She was close to his face and her hand now rested on the back of his neck. ?I was hoping that we could have some time?alone.? Her eyes sparkled as she looked up into his. There was little way that he could resist her.
?Th-th-this way.? Quickly he lead Razi up a few flights of stairs and down some hallways until they were standing in front of a small door that looked like it was a janitor?s closet. He opened the door and the two of them stepped in.
The room was empty, but all of the computers were on and functional. It appeared that everything in the room was controlled by computers. In her heart, Razi smiled, things were going to work. She turned to the scientist with her lips lingering dangerously close to his. ?Now, sweet man, where is the button that blows up this place??
?What do you want with it?? He whispered.
?Nothing?? Her lips brushed his as she spoke.
?O-over there.? He breathed deeply.
Razi lightly kissed the scientist, ?Thank you.? The moment the words left her lips, she spun on her heel and her manner instantly changed. ?I really do mean thank you, you silly man. So easily influenced.? She playfully laughed.
?Wh-wh-what? What do you mean??
Razi hit the button that the man indicated. ?That is what I mean.?
A robotic voice sounded all throughout the building, ?Self-destruct in two minutes.?
?Goodbye!? The prototype strode out of the room, locked the man inside and went on her way to leaving the building. Numerous scientists and personnel ran past her.
?One minute to self destruct.? The voice of death sang faithfully down to the last number.
?Razi! You need to get out of here!? One of the scientists yelled as he saw her, ?You have to complete the mission we gave to you in your creation. Now go!?
She nodded as if she was faithful to the pathetic humans then proceeded to run out of the building.
As the clock ticked down to its remaining numbers, reactors in the base of the building exploded. Chunks of metal and cement flew high into the sky. Those left inside the building perished instantly. Razi was far enough away that she felt the after shock, but received no damage. As her plan proceeded, she raced back to the wreckage and made it look like she had been trapped in the building and somehow managed to survive.
About half an hour later, camera crews and various rescue vehicles began filling near the destroyed building. Razi ensured that she would look terrified when the crews came to help her.
