I own all 3 systems, all of the cross platform games (COD, Fallout etc.) are for my box because i already dropped the cash on Live. My PS3 in the meantime has been gathering dust and serving mostly as a blu-ray player.

So i need some suggestions of exclusive games I may have overlooked since the platforms launch.
I have tackled most of the big title exclusives
- the uncharteds, metal gear, GoW, Heavy rain, little big planet etc.
so im looking for lesser known favorites of yours, the gaming elite.

I know many threads like this have been made before but the answers supplied seem to echo the list of games mentioned above and cross platform titles.

If any games are mentioned en mass in replies that i have already played i will edit accordingly here. (its just hard to remember, its been a long time)

Also anyone played 3D Dot Game Heroes? because at this moment its at the top of the list.

EDIT: I have played the resistance series, infamous, killzone, ratchet's and sly's

Metal Gear Solid 4. A lot of people prefer other MGSes, but it's one of my favourite games ever.
Agreed, love that game, thats the reason i bought the PS3 in the first place.

Resistance: Fall of Man was an excellent release title for the PS3. It's made by Insomniac who I think are consistently the best game designers. If you like that game I would also recommend Resistance 2, but Resistance 2 is an inferior game. It had a minor case of Call of Duty Syndrome, but not enough to keep it from still being an entertaining game.

Infamous, Killzone 2, Resistance and, if you like RPGs, get one of the very few exclusive RPGs for the PS3: Folkore.

Valkyria Chronicles, a mixture of an RPG, Turn based strategy, and third person shooter. Has great gameplay, story, and graphics.

You'll probably need to order it online though. It's pretty hard to find it in stores from my experience.

The Sly Cooper Collection.
The Ratchet and Clank Future games.

If you haven't played either of those games yet, smack yourself in the face then go buy them.

If you played one but not the other, just go buy the other and play all the games.

Also Infamous.

Infamous is great, so is the first Resistance (this game sold me on the PS3). Also go get the Prince of Persia HD Trilogy pack. As for other exclusives, I would say give MAG a try if you are into online shooters. Fantastic online as you work in squads trying to complete objectives rather then just an all out free for all.

Demon Souls, excellent game, but really challenging. Should be able to find it pretty cheap now as well.

Flower, just because it's a unique game.
Pain, because throwing David Hasselhoff into panes of glass is all kinds of fun! :D

I think I saw it for around 20 recently. I'd second this motion. Is Grand Tourismo 5 not supposed to be coming out soon. That's an exclusive right? I'm not sure because I don't care about racers.

3D Dot Heroes is pretty cool. If you can get it for under 30 I think that would be a reasonable pickup.

Ninjas. Damn.

OT: Well, I've heard 3D Dot heroes is good, a kind of retro style game parodying Zelda.

Gran Turismo 5. It has everything, and even if you are only a slight racing fan, with the amount of work that is in it and the content, I think you will appreciate it. I was only an arcade racing fan before I bought this, but now I can't put it down. I mean, they worked on it for 5 years, it's got content coming out of it's ass.

I own 3D Dot Game Heroes, and I highly recommend it. It is part homage to old-school JRPGs (especially Zelda), part parody thereof - and it works great on both counts! It also provides a refreshing change from those gritty, ultra-realistic games that are being spewed out by the bucketload these days.

I'm playing through the Sly Collection now and Sly 1 was just great; I don't know how else to describe it, Sly 1 is like taking great 2D platforming levels and making them 3D. Sly 2 is open world and I prefer Sly 1's awesome linear levels; however, Sly 2 is a pretty good open world game with interesting and diverse missions, much better than say GTA's or Assassin's Creed's open world-ness.

I know you said you loved MGS4, give Metal Gear Online a try if you haven't. In my opinion, MGO is the best online shooter this gen without a doubt. It's definitely the most innovative, old-school, and hardcore shooter this gen. The skill difference between a good player and an average player is very great.

Also, MAG is the best FPS I've played this gen because it's the least devolved FPS meaning that MAG doesn't have moving spawns, there's no 1 button nade tossing (you have to cycle to a nade from your gun to throw a nade), and there's no auto health regen. Plus, there is kinda of a class system where you can be a healer or repairer, and not have be a great shooter to help contribute to a victory. And MAG's objective design makes it so that campers do NOT help the team win.

Heavy Heavenly Sword is a really good game as well, it's not just a GoW clone, as it's much better. The battle system is pretty unique where you have to switch between 3 stances to fight effectively. You block by not attacking while in the correct stance, the aerial juggling is pretty interesting, the countering is great, and the super moves are pretty cool. Plus, several enemies are only vulnerable to certain combos so you just can't button mash. The game is pretty cinematic with good characters (the actress that plays the lead in Fringe is the voice of the main character) and the ending is pretty epic. You can get it for $10-$20 and for that price, it's definitely worth it.

If you like baseball, MLB The Show is by far the best baseball series this gen, it blows MLB 2k out of the water.

Some games to keep an eye on next year are The Last Guardian, SOCOM 4, and LBP2.

Demon's Souls and GT5 are must plays. Demon's Souls is really cheap now, and you should definitely play it before they shut down the online servers.
