I don't want to repeat what a lot of others have already said, so I won't.

If you get a PS3 it'll help if you get those little plastic snap-on trigger dealy-boppers. Best 5 gaming related bucks I've ever spent.

they have to be the greatest attachment that has ever been made for a Sony controller.

O.T.
Look you basically getting no difference in console its the exact same games that come out and the exact same crap that you get on the online service. the only difference is that the ps3 leans more towards being a full entertainment Unit and the xbox leans more towards gaming. and with the online servers neither of them are safe the xbox live server can just be hacked as easily as the psn servers.

Good day to you all. I have been saving money for a time and now i would like to use it on a new console, (i only have a Wii) but i don't really know what console i should buy. PS3 has good hardware, (that's what my buddies told me) but i really, REALLY like the Halo Series.(not that i think that you are stupid, but here's a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_(series) link end) and i also know that most of the games are released for PS3 AND 360, (and soon, ((probably)) for Wii U, too) like Crysis 2, but is there a diffrence? I know that the PS network is free, and that XBLA costs, but is XBLA safer? PLEASE, share your thoughts and personal experience!
.

Well xbox is yet to be hacked XD
But yer if you enjoy halo then you will love xbox to death.
also kinect is a worthwhile experience.

PS3 is better if you looking for a media center but im not keen on their first party titles at all. for me most their exclusives are like Michael Bay films (lots of explosions)

As far as PS3 controllers go, I got the rubber grip pack from ASDA, and it makes a huge improvement - the controller is more stable, thumb sticks much more accurate and less likely to slide, and L2 and R2 extensions make them much better for shooters. Highly recommended, I'd say it puts it almost on par with the 360 controller.

I agree with the 'real' triggers point, however I have managed to wear out two pairs fanatically playing Bad Company 2, sometimes I get a bit over excited playing online shooters, particularly when I'm playing badly :p

I can't really give you a neutral response, but I bought the PS3 for the exclusives.
Both of them are really good.

From what I can gather:

- xbox is the way to go if you're going for multiplatform games (CoD, Batman, etc). They are simply build for this system (most of the time) and ported to the PS3.
- ps3 has an edge when it comes to exclusives. Demon's Souls, God of War, Infamous, Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain, MGS4 etc. Xbox has more shooter exclusives though.
- Online is a bit more active on Xbox. Also the connection is better most of the time. You get what you pay for.

Hope this helps!

Just because Xbox Live is a paid service doesn't make it safer. ANY online service can be hacked.

On Topic: Just break down your choices by looking at different aspects of each platform. Exclusive games, the console interface, media features, the controller (trust me, that's a more important attribute than it sounds).

If you plan to play online games regularly, go for the platform most of your friends own. Seriously, you'll be glad you did.

Which ever console you go for, make sure you get a large capacity hard drive. Xbox 360 has a lot of downloadable titles available, as well as exclusive DLC. At the same time, PS3 offers a lot of those too, plus with mandatory installations with a lot of games, you end up using a lot of space. I had a 60GB hard drive in my PS3, and that was nowhere near enough space, especially after getting Gran Turismo 5. Ended up upgrading the hard drive to 320GB.

Good luck with your decision. One final recommendation is that if any friends own these consoles have a play on theirs so you get a first hand view of the experience.

I'm rich enough that I have all three. Hah! Suckers who have to choose one or the other! You can eat my "Wii in every room with a TV in it" right up the grille! In all seriousness the few kick ass PS3 exclusives don't make up for the 360s line up and superb Live service. Yeah you have to pay for it but at least it doesn't suck. I'm not explaining myself well am I... Trust me, get the 360.
The 360's line-up of exclusives these days consisting 100% of Halo and Gears of War games. Every other 'exclusive' they had is either on the PC as well, or migrated to the PS3 as well a la Mass Effect 2.

And why would I be jealous of a Wii in every room? Every friend of mine that has a Wii, has it just gathering dust, because they have no use for it anymore.

OT: Pick what you want OP. It's personal preference. Very little that is said in this thread will have a bearing on your choice.

The difference between the 2 is negligible, and asking a question such as this is pointless at best and flamebait at worst

Whereas Xboxs are slow thoughtful and artistic? Most games these days are like michael bay films, because michael bay films sell

Do you own a gaming PC? If so, purchase a PS3. If you do not own a gaming PC, then purchase a 360.

I have to concur. Check what consoles your friends have (which you want to play with) and or check which consoles have the type of games you want to play with.

Online capability is good on both sides, and it depends what you want from it.

And the Wii? I have a special room in my house to do that. (Ha! Betcha didn't hear that one before)

speaking objectively, I can say that the ps3's hardware is superior.
speaking subjectively, the exclusives are better, I think, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, God of War to name a few. The software is nicer, cleaner and easier, and the network is free and doesn't require you to buy a wireless adaptor to connect to wireless. the overall look the machine is sleeker, and less garish, it's also more ergonomic. IMO if you want a cleaner experience and are willing to forgive Sony for the PSN outage, go for the ps3.

I thought this was going to be a "which is better" thread. Thank the lord it isn't.

I don't own a PS3 (yet) so i would say 360, although both consoles have their ups and downs.

If you like Multiplayer, go for 360, if you like single player with a hint of multiplayer, then go PS3.
