'PS3 overtakes Xbox 360 Userbase'..... Wait what?

Oh, goodie. One flamewar ends and another comes and replaces it almost the next day.

If anyone happens to be wondering I bought my PS3 on launch day and its still working perfectly.

i'm still looking into buying a PS3, so far i have 2 360s but i was worried about the PS3 fat's YLOD, is it something i should worry about?

My fat PS3 has done nothing but work as directed scince buying, but there was the original fat ones then the cut down fat ones.

Still according to its Wikipedia page the PS3 has had, at worst, a 10% failure rate (In 2009). Not including the leap-year bug.

Id say that buying an unboxed fat PS3 is safe, a used one however, might be different.

is it just the normal risk of buying used or is it buying used from an unlicensed retailer that's bad?

Normal risks. Unlicensed risk factors are unknown to me.

I think only marketing people from the xbox dept of Microsoft and Sony's marketing people should be worried. I still can't understand how the users who are happy about their decisions to buy one of the products ***** at the other console owners.

Anyone remember this gem delivered on the eve of the Wii and PS3's launch?

Its not data, its not anything but an analyst firm making a prediciton they have no possible access to such records since any such records would be kept by Microsoft and Sony so how did strategy analytics get access? they didn't they're making a prediction.

Well, it's nice to see PS3s are more popular in Europe.
I like the PS3 a lot more, it's vastly superior in software and the hardware is pretty equal, though 360 has better online. I'm glad it's getting the recognition it deserves.

This is also the same reason why the PS2 became the highest selling console ever. I've never known anyone who hadn't needed to replace theirs at least once.

My PS2 works just fine. It wasn't the slime version, it was the old one, and it was bought used. I still play SW:Battlefront 2 with my friends.

The console must be like 8 years old now...

Me and my fraind just dusted off his onld PS2 (Fat) and fired it up for the first time in 4 years. Popped in Battlefront 2.
OH THE NOSTALGIA. We sorta grew up playing that, I remember spending many weekends parked infront of his T.V playing that game.

Me too, I was going to play it the other month but then I couldn't find my old PS2. I will find it though, only for that game. It's too damn good not to have a sequel!!!

If his PS2 wouldn`t have worked, we would have bought one from a local gamestop for dirt cheap . `Tis a shame that they snuffed out the sequel. Imagine a space battle in GLORIOUS HD. It would be.... be..... orgasmic.

yes, but most company's design their products to break JUST AFTER the warranty.

Look it up. My friend was thinking of buying a 360 and refused after he read a leaked article from Microsoft about this devious plan.

um what devious plan? i'm pretty sure i've never heard of and there is no proof Microsoft designed it to break after warranty so they could get more console sales...

i literally know 2 people out of all my friends that have ever had the rrod, (3 including myself), and all of them either got a new one from microsoft or fixed it theirself. also, any xbox made after 2007 seems to be relatively immune to this problem

Same here. I'm on my 4th sexbox. These slim ones still feel very, very hot after a couple of hours of game play, Even with the games installed onto the hard drive.

and buying from a guy on craigslist would be "unlicensed"
