So, as someone who just bought a PS3 after years of pussyfooting around it, what Games would you say are the 'Gotta get' type for the PS3?

As a personal note, I have Finished Journey and Heavy Rain finding them really enjoyable, Journey esp.

Edit: Whoa, getting some Awesome Replies, Although I've Noticed I should have been a tad clearer on Exclusives were what I wished to Discuss, Due to owning Everything apart from the kitchen sink (or anything Sony related before now, although i have played some)

Infamous 1 + 2
Uncharted series
Valkyria Chronicles, an RPG, there is a demo on the PS store.
LittleBigPlanet 1 + 2

If you liked Journey, you should check out Flower too, made by the same people, very relaxing and enjoyable.

If we're talking exclusives:

- Demon's Souls
- God of War Collections Vol. 1 & 2
- God of War III
- Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection
- inFamous & inFamous 2
- Killzone 2 & Killzone 3
- No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise
- Resistance Trilogy
- Uncharted Trilogy
- Valkyria Chronicles
- WipEout HD Fury

And those are my essential choices. For PSN games I'd make a more extensive list.

Heh, ok was actually Meaning along the lines of Exclusives, as I already own a PC and every other console under the sun, so things like Fallout,Deus, RDR and Batman I've already had a gander at in the past.

Ah now that's what i was looking for, I've been loving Dark souls, so i was curious of Demon's souls. Valkyria Chronicles seems really interesting, Hybrid of Real time and Turn based yeah?

And was checking into PSN, as i said above played Journey and Flower, was very impressed.

If you've ever played any Metal Gear Solid games I highly recommend getting MGS4 and if you haven't get the MGS HD collection and the first one off PSN and then get 4, they are amazing games.

The God of War series,
Infamous 1 + 2
Heavy Rain,
Resistance 3
And maybe the Uncharted series, although that one is quite hit and miss

Indeed. A very unique take on tactical warfare, and I must admit, I like the anime take on WWII.

And if you like Dark Souls, I do suggest Demon's Souls. Dark Souls is the better game, but Demon's Souls has the better world and story.

I think they've mostly been mentioned above- theres only about 50 exclusive titles out there, not all good. I'd give the Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction and A Crack in Time a go, especially the latter. I'm a fan of Infamous, GoW, Valkyria Chronicles, 3D Dot Heroes. Loved Journey and Flower too.

Heavy Rain was pretty solid, still need to get around to playing Journey though.

Exclusive wise...
Ratchet & Clank series (excluding All 4 One, as I haven't played that and I cannot vouch for its quality)
Uncharted series
Metal Gear Solid 4
Siren Blood Curse
inFamous series
Little Big Planet
Tales of Graces f (if you don't hate JRPGs)
Demon's Souls

Honestly it depends what you're into.

Since you love Heavy Rain and Journey I assume that you play alone in your room, looking for a moving, deep experience, it'll be a little hard to beat because I believe Heavy Rain and Journey to be the best types of those genre of games. I say you're off to a great start.

Any how, the games that the people above me suggested are great. Though they're a lot more action oriented, you should still find them very enjoyable. Especially the Uncharted series, MGS series, or Bioshock will give you a great single player experience.

If you play online a lot just get games that your friends already have. I find that it doesn't matter what the game is, as long as you have friends you play it with (Splitscreen or online) it's super fun time. For example: people hate the Resident Evil 5 game, but I played it with my friend and we would play it until 5 in the morning with school the next day and it was glorious.

from what wasn't said as far as exclusives
The Jak and Sly games were really good imo (haven't played the HD ones though)
Twisted Metal mainly if your looking into four player split-screen

Exclusives, eh?

1) Demon's Souls
2) ICO/SotC Collection (even if you have them both for PS2, ICO is now complete while the original North American release was not)
3) Metal Gear Solid 4
4) God of War III (not that it was the best of the series, but still...)
5) PSOne Classics from PSN (have a look, there are some great games you might have missed)

I'd have plenty of multiplatform games to recommend, but I'm not sure how many of those you would have had the opportunity to play or indeed have already played. So for that reason, the following games are exclusively on PS3, and naturally come highly recommended (they're in descending order of personal quality):

LittleBigPlanet 1
Demon's Souls
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
inFamous 1
Flower
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
God of War 3
Killzone 2
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
MAG
PixelJunk Shooter 1
Gran Turismo 5
Resistance: Fall of Man

There are others that I haven't played but are meant to be good, such as Valkyria Chronicles, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Modnation Racers and Twisted Metal, but I think that's more than enough to get you started.

The infamous Games, the [Blank] Souls games, the resistance games, the uncharted games, the little big planet games, L.A. Noire, Mortal Kombat, Red Dead Redemption, Gran Turismo 5, The Metal Gear Solid Games, Team Ico's Games, the Sly Cooper Games, the Ratchet & Clank Games, No More Heroes Paradise, the Jak & Daxter Games (when their collection comes out), MLB The Show games, the God of war games, Portal 2, Odin Sphere, the Killzones, WipEout HD/Fury, Final Fantasy 13(?), The Baconing, Critter crunch, and Flower.

I may have padded that a bit.
