If you can get it for CHEEEEAP then maybe

The one question you must ask:

Do I like JRPGs?

If you say Yes then you should get it

Yes the psp is worth it but your memory sticks needs to be 4gb minimum.
I would also recomend getting the latest version that can run UMD.
As for good games, I like Fat Princess Fistfull of Cake, if you haven't heard of the original version look it up.
One last thing, lbp for the psp is ok but the comunity made levels usually lean towards sub-par.

Well, do you think having a gameboy is worth it?
If thats a yes then a psp will probably be worth it. The only difference besides the stencil screen is the games. And the psp has a lot of good games.
(-especially the ff1,2,3 remakes)

Yeah. After all these years, it's built up a large enough library to be worth it.

Just get a decent sized memory stick!
This'll probably make me sound derpy, but apart from saving games, what use would a memory stick be on a PSP?
Haven't seen many downloadable games I'd like to get, so I'd likely just use the memory to save games. Would I still need a stick for that, or will the console's own memory (if it has any) be okay for that?
I will add that a couple of games (Like Monster Hunter Freedom Unite) have "install" variants in addition to being available wholly digital.

UMD is a TERRIBLE medium; installing Monster Hunter cuts down the loading times by somewhere around 80% (not exaggerating), and I imagine that benefit isn't exclusive to MH.

Definitely look over the PSP store before committing to it; title availability is very hit-or-miss depending on your tastes and tolerance for atrocious 3D camera controls.

I loved my PSP! I had all the Monster Hunters, Locoroco 1 and 2, Medieval: Resurrection, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and Star Wars Battlefront 2. Although the last was inferior to console as far as I know, I thought it was a really cool little thing when I was younger.

I bought a PSP not long ago, and I can say with certainty that you should DEFINITELY get one. ESPECIALLY if you're a fan of JRPGs. Here's a small list of games that I highly recommend:

Persona 3 Portable
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Half-Minute Hero
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Lumines
Prinny 2: Operation Panties Dood (if you're a fan of REALLY hard platformers)

I've gotten more use out of my PSP than my 3DS so far. You really should go for it. The game library is HUGE, and the games aren't gonna get much cheaper than what they are now.

Mate, I made that post, like, over a year ago. Nearly two.
I won't ask to get the thread locked since people might be interested by this but god damn was this a blast from the past.

Herp derp thread necromancy.
We've all had a good laugh, but now it's time to let it die again.
