I remember loving Halo 3 for the first... seven hours I played it round my friends house, and then... I don't even know. Suddenly it felt full of suck.

The Gravity Hammer was the light in the darkness, so that shout out was appreciated.

(nice review)

The one problem I had with Halo 3 was the fact that it was absurdly short. Maybe not like Fable kind of short but it was pretty damn close--not to mention I don't even use Xbox Live, so multiplayer is out of the question. It's been sitting at my friend's house for months and I don't even miss it.

And yes, the gravity hammer was the shining point of the game and the pinnacle of creativity for the series--which is a good thing and a bad thing, to be honest.

It hardly trolling to point out inaccuracies. I didn't pose a question and didn't want a responce. Why is it that as soon as someone has a contradictory opinion eveyone starts shouting "TROLL!". If I'm wrong then tell me how? And to you Ninja, I think you'll find that I did use exclamation points.

And if i wrote "This revuw r coooooocks" using giant letters made up of individual symbols and it took my 3 hours to do it, would that make it good? More effort doesn't mean better.
Sure it would. I would offer a cigar to anyone who managed that.

Oops, sorry for the double post. I was looking at the first page

Alright fine. This is the last I'll say on the matter. You complain that it leaves too much un-explained, that it feels to much like a "FanGame". If all someone is after is an FPS, they can ignore the story and not question the details. After all, all they want is action, not explaination. But. If you played Halo 3 for the story, isn't it reasonable to assume you know enough already? Should Bungie really have to re-iterate all that was covered in the previous games to those who havent played them? NO!. FUCK NO!. If you want to listen to a story then you START FROM THE START, oddly enough. I liken your review to someone who reads LOTR: The Return of the King, and then complains that it didn't explain who and what was going on, because they have not read the first two books. If you want uncomplicated, violent fun, then you've got it. But if you want to know the miniscule details of the backstory then don't expect them to spoonfeed it to you because your too lazy to go back and learn it for yourself. I haven't read a single Halo novel, and yet it all the games made sense. Don't blame the game because YOU don't understand it. Take it or leave it, but don't go online and spew forth shit saying "IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE" when what you should be saying is "IT DOESN"T MAKE SENSE TO ME "

Seriously, why the hell does the guy on the right in the picture look so angry?
It really bothers me.
I really wish I knew what's happening out of the frame.

Don't worry, I don't play multiplayer either.

Off topic: Why are you Ultrajoe?!

Do you want us to point our your 'inaccuracies'? Seriously, I explained why I didn't understand. You could have explained to me what happened, but no, you flamed me, thus making you a troll. We at the Escapist try to play nice, we help eachother and such. No yell at them if they have an opinion. What you are saying also makes you a hypocrit. I could go on, but no, I will refrain from doing so.

Yes, I did play and enjoy the first two.
I like my women like I like my FPS's: with stories.
I don't hate the game, I just don't like it.
Seriously, what do you want from me?!

They didn't have the arc in the other games so how is a backstory going to help there? From hat I saw, the portal was above Earth (accroding to a friend) and so was that Halo, since it was inside the thing.
The game shows off nothing to what's happening so I can't actually tell!

RAGE!

Ultrajoe? I don't know who that is, unless you're talking about the game that came out about a decade ago. :p

Perhaps the elites learned English for Intel gathering reasons, intercepting human communications to learn about troop movements and the like?

Make sense, but couldn't they glass the planet over instead? It seemed corney to me. I like enemies (expecially bosses) to not care for our language. I mean he called us dirt, but then they take the time to communicate with us.

Well, my 2cents anyway.

Halo really brings out the worse in people.

Disregarding Burgers, this thread is going quite well. I suppose most people are asleep though.

I swear you have too much time on your hands. I was around here with you when Yahtzee had about 4 videos up (As another account) when you only had 50 or so posts.

Well 3000 posts later and here you still are. Phew.

On the language front, I'm sure the Covenant spoke English in Halo: CE. I mean, there was that whole thing about Captain Keyes 'overhearing the guards' when he was imprisoned. And the lines the grunts would come up. Am I remembering things wrong?
Nope, you're right.

They must have stumbled onto the James Bond DVD Boxset while they were invading.

Hmm, I remembered them grunting and stuff, laughing occasionally as you fucked up. But it sounds like you're right. It's been ages since I last played it.
