I love the new features and gameplay they add to a game, I would be pleased to pay a little more for the work they put into the DLC to make the game better. If people don't buy them then they are missing out.

When I play a competitive multiplayer game, I commit to it, so that I can gradually improve in it and, in the case of ranking and credit system, progress in it. As this is the case, new maps for a game I play heavily is totally worth it. 800 points is about £6.50. £6.50 for more variety in a game I play heavily is worth it.

I voted other because I like them, but I've never paid for them (Call of Duty 4, World at War, Killing Floor, etc). They will also be the deciding factor for me getting Black Ops: reasonable price = buy, not reasonable = no buy.

I hate map packs. Especially the MW2 ones, which cost 15 bucks, have only 4 maps, and 1 of the maps was recycled from a much better game.
I thought they had 5 and 2 were ports from CoD4?

Love the idea, but really they should be free. It extends the life of a game, but instead of giving away the content for free, they nickel-and-dime us to death. If we were paying for a little mini-campaign, then yes, I would lighten up on it, but for what we're getting, we're just over-paying.

I fail to see why devs can't release maps for free anymore.
I mean, look at tf2. so much free content and still going.

I relatively enjoy them, but I think at times they can be a bit expensive :x

Remember the times when patches, new maps and other content, were actually free.

DLC's are a cancer.

We still get that!

Oh wait, just Valve does that. Oh well, I like their games more.

As my 'other', I refuse to pay that much for what is basically the team sealing off a couple of sections from the single player campaign and change nothing, leaving the map balance ruined.

Look at every single multiplayer map from the past four CoD games. Every single one of their maps are sections of the single player game sealed off from the rest of the level, with spawn point and objective markers.

Even Nazi zombies. (the first map was a bombed-out house from one of the single player levels put in a new surrounding to accomodate the undead.)

Team Fortress 2 updates, however... Those I would pay for. Because you actually get stuff worth buying. And it is balanced. And you don't have to worry about getting completely destroyed by someone who has the new weapons (well, the Spy polycount set can be overkill, but only against a team who don't spycheck)

I understand why developers make dlc but i'll never buy it, mainly because i think it is a rip off, since the amount people spend on one game's dlc they could have bought an entirely new game rather then dwelling on something old.

variety is the spice of life probably sums it up i suppose...

Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, but regardless to me it's still not worth paying for 3 new maps.

A map creator and a reliable method to sift through crap would net the community better maps than just selling maps. See TF2 for example.

If a developer wants to sell me DLC that I won't mind paying for, give me new gameplay mechanics.

If they couldn't be bothered to include the maps in the first place, then why bother including them at all?
