Mmm...I'm not really a fanboy of anything, but I've proven to be quite the philosopher. If you've got a question about morality or existence, I'll answer it to the best of my abiity.

'pologies if that doesn't count.
Hmmmmm, nope, that's perfectly fine. This is meant as a general Q&A thread so anyone who can answer philosophical questions is perfectly welcome :D.

I can probably answer any question pertaining to the Star Wars expanded universe from the end of Return of the Jedi to the end of the New Jedi Order saga.
Ooooh, in which case could you answer this for me then? I've never been majorly interested in the Expanded Universe much, but one thing has always bugged me. After the defeat of the Empire in ROTJ, how did the Rebellion end up becoming the New Republic? I mean, don't explain it fully, but did they have to clear up the remnants of the Empire or did they just send a fleet over to Coruscant or what? Surely it would take more than just killing the top brass to overthrow a galaxy-spanning empire, after all...?
Sure. They didn't declare themselves a New Republic until a few years after the 6th film. In that time they did pretty much the same as they did during the movies, operating out of Outer Rim worlds and other lesser known planets, building up their fleets, sowing discord and gaining support on Imperial worlds, stealing supplies, high-jacking and destroying Imperial warships, etc etc, Revolutionary actions (could easily call it Terrorism, the Empire did).

They reformed Rogue Squadron too, recruiting new pilots from all over, who were led by Wedge Antilles, and one of the new squadron's first missions was to overthrow a Biotics factory on Borleias, and since that was the only settlement on the otherwise untouched planet, they essentially took the planet too. Borleias was then used as a staging area for Incursions into Inner Rim territory, finally ending with Coruscant (Imperial Center, Galactic Coordinates 0,0,0).

Rogue Squadron were the ones who liberated Coruscant, having been smuggled onto the planet as Insurgents, they took down the planetary shields, allowing a Rebellion fleet to assault the other defenses. However, the Imperial Administrator of Coruscant Ysanne Isard (ex-lover of Palpatine, Empress in all but name) had purposefully allowed the planet to be taken in a ploy to shackle the Rebellion to Coruscant, which she had infected with the Kryptos Virus, which didn't affect humans but was fatal to most non-human species. She believed that, by forcing the Rebellion to commit large forces to defending the 'liberated' Coruscant, she could hamper their actions elsewhere, while at the same time driving a wedge between the human rebels and the non-human rebels, who were angry at the humans immunity to the virus. Luckily, the method which Rogue Squadron used to bring down the planetary shields, boiling the colossal planetary reservoirs to generate a huge storm, also served to boil away enough of the virus (it wasn't airborne, needed to be transmitted) so that the epidemic was borderline manageable.

Ysanne Isard fled the planet in spectacular fashion, blasting her way off Coruscant in the Super Star Destroyer Lusankya, a twin to Vader's Executor which the Emperor had had buried beneath Coruscant's surface. When she was gone and the battle was over, Princess Leia, Mon Mothma et al moved in and gave a galaxy-wide declaration that a new Republic was formed.

(There was of course, still years of work to be done before the Empire was beaten, but Coruscant was the symbol of leadership in the Galaxy, so it was needed for any government to be recognised as legitimate).

What was the name of that short lived anime series in the late 90s or early 2000s that ran on Toonami and featured something about a mermaid?
Was it Blue Sub No. 6 that had mermaid... things in it...?

What was the name of a game that came out either earlier this year or late last year that looked a lot like Fallout?

No guarantees, but I could probably take any questions about Super Mario 64 or seasons 1-5 of House... or Teachers (the old British TV show, although the fact that I'm bothering to explain what it is kinda means it's unlikely anyone will remember it or have anything to ask about it).
I haven't seen an episode that explains what happened to House's leg. Have they explained that?
I can't find a way to watch season 1-3 unless they come on Fox or something.
Yup, that was explained in an episode towards the end of the first season. He suffered an infarction, a blockage of the blood supply causing muscle death. As he explained at some point later: "if it happens in your heart, it's a heart attack; if it happens in your brain, it's a stroke; mine happened in my leg". Might not be an exact quote but that was the gist of it. Eventually his wife (at the time) decided for him to have the dead tissue removed while he was in a chemically-induced coma.

I can answer nearly any question about a lot of late 90's anime: Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam Wing, Fruits Basket, and the complete works for Nabeshin.

I'm also a voice actor fan, so if you want to know "who's that voice?" I'm your girl. :)

Thank you very much, that's cleared up a lot of stuff for me :D.

I can answer any question about Scrubs, Buffy or Angel. Also Morrowind and Oblivion, and WoW/Warcraft universe.

Edit: And by WoW I mean lore, not mechanics.

In Oblivion he really only speaks opinion, so no. In Morrowind he's much more of a liar. It's M'aiq, by the way.

In Morrowind he tells you roughly where the Temple of Boethiah is, as well as mentioning Mudcrab Merchants. What he says about the Mudcrab Merchants aren't true, but there is a Mudcrab Merchant (he buys and sells at full-price, like Creeper the Scamp Merchant in Caldera) who has a ton of money. He is the best merchant in the game.

Edit: And no quest, sorry.

M'aiq doesn't do weird stuff so much, he just is into some obscure items. Specifically, he goes hunting for calipers.

And why would you want to kill the Adoring Fan permanently!? Use him as your own guinea pig. Lightning, cold, fire, swords, maces, axes, bows, ancient traps, huge cliff falls, drowning, wolves, minotaur, crumbling statues, Mehrunes Dagon... I love keeping that guy around so I can kill him in inventive ways, then admire the ragdoll physics.

I have another question for anyone to answer. Where can I find a cheap Xbox 360? UK only, that is, I'm not spending money importing one (especially since it may not be PAL-friendly) and I'm not trying eBay as the only cheap ones there are all RRoD (and say so in the description). Mine was stolen after Christmas and I want to replace it, and have little funds to do so, so anyone who can answer this question, I thank you in advance...

That could be Metro 2033. Set in Russia, in a post apocalyptic environment.
Sounds like this may be it.

Plus, I have no knowledge, albeit a little bit of Scrubs knowledge.

Woo, double post, sue me.
[sup][sup]Don't sure me.[/sup][/sup]

Have you tried a little shop called CeX?
Arcade consoles go for £80 and they sell HD's for about £40 in my area.
The consoles are second hand but they do test them before accepting them to sale to weed out RRoD's.

Link to their site, where you can see if you have a store nearby. [http://www.cex.co.uk/]

Hope that helps.
