I quickscope whenever I feel the situation needs it. It's a nice feeling when you pull it off no matter if it is or isn't skillful.

At the very least, it gives the sniper rifle a certain degree of usage at closer ranges once you get a hang of it.

I hate how sniping, or what is now known as "hard scoping", is now a "nooby" thing to do. Yes, I'll admit that some sniping is camping, but if you're in a team-based game, it's surprisingly useful to have a sniper picking off people, whereas having some guy running around with an Intervention using it as a shotgun is just pointless.

How many "MW2 complaint" treads must i wade through to find something at least slightly original, please escapist just move on and find something else to talk about
You'll have to get used to it I'm afraid.

If you were on the forums last year, people would be bitching about Halo. This year, it's MW2. When another really popular multiplayer game comes out, there will be at least 3 threads a week of people bitching about it.

This wasn't meant to be a *****, although it may have looked like it. Honestly did wonder what other people thought of it.

I think the need to quickscope is retarded. The tactic itself is just getting around a wholly unrealistic interpretation of how a sniper rifle fires. I prefer the Halo approach, where the thing is amazingly accurate even when unscoped (which can actually be pretty damn hard to aim). CoD, on the other hand, thinks that if you're not looking through the scope that your sniper rifle should shoot at a 45-degree angle from the barrlel.
That might work on a console FPS like Halo but believe me, having perfect accuracy hip shooting a sniper rifle would be HORRIBLE on MW2 (especially on the PC).
With a small amount of practise you could easily be capable of one shoting someone without any form of aiming from any distance, which would suck, bigtime.

I don't mind quickscopers, I really don't, but they shouldn't think quickscoping is skillful. As has been said, the real problem is that it is possible to quickscope in the first place. As a million people have stated before on this site MW2 has a lot of balancing issues. However, I'm okay with it and still play it, nevermind the douchebags abusing game mechanics.
