Back then, i played through Full Throttle within an afternoon together with my mate. When he had to go with his dad in the evening, he almost apologized that we beat it so fast together, but we had so much fun that it didn't really matter :)

I beat Batman: Arkham Asylum 100% complete in 1 day. And since I got my copy a few days early from my shop, I was completely done before most people had even played it.

Other than tremendously awesome games like that one, I don't normally marathon like that though. I did do Portal in a couple hours. You can breeze through Halo 3 in no time if you know what your doing and you play on easy mode.

Also, on the Left 4 Dead thing. Playing the campaigns just means you completed the tutorial. Even on extreme mode, the single player can't compare to outplaying 4 thinking, conniving human beings, especially when my team seems to normally be made up of escaped lunatics and children who speak a foreign language.

Quickest?

Baldur's Gate 1, 32 minutes. It was my tenth playtrough though and I went for a clear-cut speedrun.

Battletoads, around 50 minutes. Countless days of hair-shredding frustration before that though.

Duke Nukem 3D in under an hour. 3 hours or so the first time I played it.

Uplink: Hacker Elite in around 40 minutes.

Civilization 4 Huge world scenario on easiest difficulty and max number of enemies: 35 minutes, victory by conquest. On the other end, I have a Civ 4 game on a few settings thougher going on right now: 22 hours ingame and counting....

Rented Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and beat it over the course of a weekend, but I was only playing sporadically. Super Mario Brothers in the course of an afternoon. Portal in one night (approx. 4-6 hours; I got stuck on some of the early missions, damn tricky mechanics).

I beat Crash Course in 32 minutes. If he's talking baout that, it makes sense, but it's hardly the enitre game.
Well, yeah. That's why I said, "Except for the new one which was designed to be short."

But as you pointed out, that's not even close to the whole game.

the first Paper Mario took me about 15 hours the first time, but I managed to beat it in less then 4 hours around my 5th playthrough.
...So you're saying you beat it faster than any recorded speed run, then?

The best is about 4:10, I believe.

Cheating= Super Mario World 20 mins.

Not cheating= the Half Life 2 episodes: 5 hours each.

But I don't make it an objective to complete a game as fast as possible.
