My Grandad reads the Daily Mail. Do I need to go on?
I read the daily mail i'm not a racist.......... Go on
You read the Daily Mail. You are racist. It's fairly simple.
I have no quarrels with other races religions or lifestyles. My Mum's job requires her to not be racist, my dad doesn't read Daily Mail and is racist................ Your logic isn't making any sense
Let me slow this down, because I don't quite think you get me. Do you read the Daily Mail?
Yes, t gets delivered to to us for some reason so we read it since wah hey free paper

My dad is a redneck in just about every way - worked hard at one company until retirement, beleives in honest day's work, and hates just about everyone.

And I married outside of my race (she's Sikh).

He has no problem with it. Never says anything about it. Of course, it helps that Indians can be just as (if not more) racist than the most stereotypical US Southerner. Go ahead, ask an older Indian how they would feel if their child married someone of African descent - odds are *Really* good the answer will be "Over my dead body. And theirs!"

So you are racist.

Do you understand now?
No I don't since I have an incredibly non racist family, my sister dates a black guy and my dad hates poles and immigrants yet detests the sunday mail

Sense........ You have none

I am the only racist in my family. Those damn purple people, the puggers!
In all seriousness my entire family is a little unhappy with the government support of immigrants (read: pre-educated people) as compared to Canadian students who cannot afford school. That is not racism though.

Fortunately I do not have any racist family members. I'm half Italian, and some of my family served in WWII on the axis side, and even they aren't racist. I think that in Europe, racism is lass prevalent than other forms of discrimination, and as more and more cultures mix in this globalised world, racism should die out before long. Good to hear you can think for yourself, and not be mindlessly conditioned by your surroundings, big thumbs up! :)
That's the funny thing though, America is way more diverse in terms of color but we also have fairly vocal racists running about. If you think of Europe you also see that they are fairly monochromatic. They also are discriminating pretty heavily against Muslims at the moment (France bans burkas) and I sure hope that America doesn't.

Recession brings out the nationalist in everyone, and the media sells itself on controversy.Personally I think banning the burka is one of the most bigoted and politically dangerous things France can do, but they've always deemed themselves more important than anywhere else in the world.

Europe isn't as monochromatic as you may think though. We have very large Asian and African communities here, and the UK has a large Caribbean community as well.

My Grandparents hate white people.
And I hate white people.
And I and my grandparents are white.
[removed due to lack of mod humour]

Seriously though, why?

I refuse to be disrespectful and bag on my family and friends in a place where they can't defend themselves so I can laugh smugly with my intellectual internet 'friends'.
Its more joking than actually hating all white people. We joke about us being the cause of all the problems in the world.

I just had dinner with my family (hmmm, cheeseburger), and we were having a.. well, interesting conversation. Well not so much a conversation as it was my brother spewing hate about black people and saying how he wishes to put them on an island and bomb it. Real interesting indeed.
Sadly most of my family members are like this, so when I expressed a different opinion they just looked at me with this weird look on their faces, "you don't hate people because of their colour, boy what's wrong with you?"
Well it didn't take me long to finish eating and hurry back upstairs.

I'm sure most people have at least one family member like this (if not, you are one lucky bastard), so..
Post your horror stories about good ol' racist aunt Sally and jew-hating uncle Jim, and seek comfort.
So you have more loyalty towards some random black guy than you do to your family?

You don't have to like like their comments, but you CERTAINLY don't have to come here and miscall them for it.

As far as I'm concerned what you've done is worse. The worst pits of Hell are reserved for liars and betrayers.
I don't understand how what he has done is worse. He is not betraying his family. All he is doing is saying that he does agree with them. That is not betraying them.

My mom doesn't like Muslims. Or gays.

Seriously, she told my brother's gay friend that she hopes "God will set him free".
Show her a couple of things to show how closely related Islam and Christianity (I'm just assuming she's a Christian, since it's most likely I guess) - should give you a laugh at any rate.
Nah, we're Jewish. Which is probably the root of the dislike--since the whole Israel and "hating Jews" thing.

At op, wow, I commend you, I really do, to go against what you were raised to believe. Awesome. Now as for me, my family(more like immediate family) are crazy religious now, (after an almost cheating thing) it's really annoying. My dad actually writes songs about god now(well 1) and just repeats it over and over and over. Very annoying. He rubs it in my face sometimes too. They also dislike gay people.

My father is sometimes ragingly racist against black people. Well, he is to everyone, but black people especially. He grew up in Bronx, NY, and said he had to deal with a lot of other races being racist against him for being white. He can be a mean bastard, but he really is a good guy deep down...if you would believe me.

Mother is ignorant enough to just say racist things, but they're usually about positive qualities. It's strange to listen to her talk sometimes...

I don't have any animosity towards any other ethnicity. I see us all as human. I merely hate trends that some people, stupid people, create. In this process, they usually label themselves with this behavior as if it's what their race does. IE: Gangsta kids.

Australia, seems anyone over 30 is xenophobic to any foreigners, especially Asians. Constant bitching about them stealing and taking over 'our' land when they also treat the Aboriginals like shit anyway, hypocrites...
