Those limb damage animations look pretty good, but watch the original video again and youll notice how little you see it. Additionally, that heavy enemy thats takes down one player while surviving a full round of boring-AR and 3-4 shotgun shots never reacted to the shots.
The bandits that flip down behind you could be interesting, everything else is something weve seen in borderlands... and while i do like fighting the crimson lance, the fact that they take cover and use shields is not the reason for this. the reason
i liked fighting them is because i get to melt them.
What kept me interested in borderlands when the burning/melting/brain-exploding wore off is the fact that the characters are all individual, in both personality and play style, and you could play them in a number of ways. Focusing on health and shield regeneration whilst running into enemy fire screaming and punching everyone down as a berserker was great fun. Focussing on elemental damage and simultaneously shocking, poisoning and setting people on fire (not often using any guns), and just watching their health drop as a siren, also fun.
This game in all its seriousness cannot offer that, and it will always be assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle after assault rifle no matter how the enemy reacts in the split second before he dies, no matter how the enemy reveals himself to you, how he charges directly at you or where he takes cover. boring, old assault rifle.
...oh, and a slightly less boring shotgun, sniper rifle and pistol thing if you feel like underpowering yourself.
