Bah. Normally I don't condone low-content threads, but I've been letting myself be eaten by something...on the Internet, no less. Yes, my life sucks so much that the Internet angers me.
But to the point. Why the EFF do pompous, teenage pseudo-intellectuals get off on publishing and broadcasting their "new ways of seeing the truth" about life on the Internet, and then feel that they deserve to be respected for it? Why do they feel the incessant need to perpetuate themselves as free-thinkers wallowing in seas of cookie-cutter, mass-media crap and that everyone who doesn't see things their way, or even remotely disagrees with a single thing they say (God forbid!) is painted as a brainwashed, utter moron who is incapable of individual thought? WHY must they paint themselves as intellectuals when, clearly, they haven't proven nor created a damn thing and then deliver posts and metapostal (if that's even a word) content that, not only is NOT the least bit intellectual, but also so inconsistent with the rules of the English language* (Queen's, American, or otherwise) that I could've received better work from a fifth grader? And it's not just the Internet; people on this site do it, too. And it would be INCREDIBLY cathartic for me to grab them by the lapel and throw them against a wall and scaring them into shutting up and possibly deflating their egos.
I know it seems hypocritical of me, being eighteen and whatnot and just out of the realm of "teenager." But I quite frankly don't care. It just infuriates me. And I wish the incessant stream of sewage spewing from their orifices would just bloody STOP already.
But I digress. If this is in any way too offensive for the forums, I'll tone it down. But I needed to get this off my chest, and not pile it onto my friend like I usually do.
