A day is longer than a year on Venus.
Earth has the most unpredictable weather in our solar system.
The most dramatic planetary weather is found on a planet tens of light years away from our own(I'll get a name if I can find it). Every few decades, the planet comes so close to it's star that it's atmosphere essentially explodes. Resulting in an atmospheric shock wave that engulfs the planet, destroying everything on it's surface.

.999999 extended to infinity is equal to 1.

a=b

a[sup]2[/sup]=ab

a[sup]2[/sup]-ab=ab-ab

a(a-b)=(a+b)(a-b)

a=a+b

a=2a

1=2
......ow.
My head.
This is why I hate algebra. So easily mislead.

Yeah, dividing by zero sucks.

Couple of corrections:

Mecury's day is not twice it's year length (58 Earth days and 88 earth day respectively)

Venus' day is longer than it's year (243 earth days and 224 earth days respectively)

Year length of planets increases as you get further from the sun (period squared is proportional to radius cubed)

And now for an addition of my own.

In approximately 4.5 billion years our galaxy the Milky Way and our nearest significant sized neighbor galaxy Andromeda will probably collide.

Uhhm, what? That doesn't make any sense. How could a pound of anything weigh more than a pound of anything else? :/

EDIT: Oh wait, that's right, I think I'm supposed to post one too;

The first product to have a bar code was Wrigley's gum.

Ummm... not possible... I think you were aiming at something else there?
No, I meant precisely that.

Because gold, along with most precious metals, are weighed by the troy standard. While a troy ounce weighs more than an imperial ounce there are only twelve ounces per troy pound making it weigh less than the imperial pound. Unless you're in scotland where they buggered it all up.
Well then, I stand corrected! learning new things every day.

I'll start - It is still legal to kill a scotsman with a bow and arrow in the city of York, England if he is wearing a kilt, has a beard and is in the city walls. (I think the day of the week and time of day is also taken into account, I think it has to be done around midnight).
I feel no need to verify this fact you have provided us all with. I do not doubt its veracity. Such a law is wholly believable.
Good, you should believe it because it is true.

It is theoretically possible to take over the world by playing a specific combination of Magic: the Gathering cards in a game, although the opponent would have to be very gullible as well as have a lot of money (Paris Hilton comes to mind, or most celebrities for that matter). The combo is performed thusly:

Auriok Salvagers (a creature with the ability to pay 1W to take an artifact from you graveyard with converted mana cost 1 or less and put it into your hand)
Ashnod's Coupon (a 0-mana artifact with the ability "Tap: Target player gets you target drink." as well as errata that says you must pay all costs for the drink.)
R&D's secret lair (an artifact that says "Play all cards as written. No errata.")
Lion's Eye Diamond or Black Lotus (if you understood anything in this combo so far, I shouldn't need to explain them)

The combo itself: (if you do it properly, you can do this on the first turn, but it requires Black Lotuses and not Lion's Eye Diamonds to avoid discarding your hand)
1)Use Lotus/Diamond with your other pieces in play to get 3 white mana.
2)Use Ashnod's Coupon to have your opponent get you a drink. Because of R&D's Secret Lair, you don't need to compensate the player should they have to pay for the drink.
3)Use the white mana in your mana pool to activate the Salvagers, reclaiming your Lotus/Diamond.
4)Replay the Lotus/Diamond and use it for another 3 white mana, then retrieve both it and the Coupon.
5)Replay both the Coupon and the Diamond, then use them both.
6)Repeat as necessary until you have the entire global supply of drinkable liquids, conquering the world. (NOTE: This game will take forever to complete should you do this due to travel times and such. Also, don't try this. Enslaving humanity by taking control of a precious resource is just plain mean. And unlikely to work.)

Sex on the beach can be dangerous at night.
...Are you talking from personal experience?

OT: You are supposed to put the stripper in after you bake the cake. Apparently.
No way. Beaches are probably one of the dirtiest places ever. o.o

You'd get insta diseased. xD
Man, what do they do to beaches over there?! Our beaches are perfect except for the odd E. Coli threat (only happens once every year or so).

OT:

A metre is defined as the exact distance light travels in 1/299,792,458th of a second.

The nearest star to us (other than Sol) is Proxima Centauri. It is 4.2 light years away (a distance of 39.73506798483936 quadrillion metres, which is approximately 24.6359232 trillion miles). Travelling at a speed of 100,000 miles per hour, it would take approximately 28,104 years to reach it.

Yes, I am a complete and total nerd, thanks for asking :p
You'd be surprised whats in that sand, or whose liquids are on it...
Should I even ask? Or do I not want to know?

If you want to get real technical, a pound of bread weighs more than a pound of gold.

This is because bread is measured using avoirdupois weight, which measure 16 ounces per pound. Gold is measured in troy weight, which measures 12 ounces per pound.
Eat some sand, and give it a week? ;D
Curious as to why I would want to eat sand in the first place...

There is a ringtone that can only be heard by people below a certain age. It works because as we get older, the frequency range that we can hear gets lower.
