They could shoot the gun from his hands. Not sure if our marksmen are pr0 enough for that though
Of course, they could if they wanted to, but they won't because they are more sensible than that. I think I know just how its going to end. In a few hours, he will get tired and give in. Then go to prison for a few decades
Well, I called that one wrong, way wrong XD
Look like the silly fucker shot himself. At this point, its no great loss if he dies. Maybe save the taxpayer a wee bit of money on his prison sentence
True dat. Although the follow up investigations by the Independent Police Complaints Commission and the like will be costing taxpayers too, so even in death he's managed to be an inconvenience.

That video was fucking awesome. How did he do that without blowing the dude's hand of?
Probably quite easily. The bullets in the handgun would only go off if the primer cap was somehow struck, so I'm guessing as long as they had good enough aim to shoot the gun itself there probably wasn't that much to be worried about.

Just checked the news, it was confirmed 5 minutes ago that Moat has "received a gunshot wound and was receiving treatment".
Yaah, he shot himself according to the BBC at about 0115 BST, and was pronounced dead in hospital at 0220 BST on Saturday.

That's who. Actually not anyone important, except to the people he affected in the past week, but the media do like to make a big fuss about these things ... even if they probably shouldn't [http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/johann-hari/johann-hari-did-the-media-help-to-pull-the-trigger-2020927.html].
It looks like your article is worryingly accurate, take a look at this:
