Unfortunately, that's what happens on television too these days. An editor or producer takes a popular rap song and tries their hardest to fit it into their broadcast, especially with sports. It's all in an effort to gain viewers. I can only imagine they do it with other genres too, but I only really notice the rap.imahobbit4062 said:You think thats bad, for my formal video (thousands of pictures of us put in a slideshow with music showing our time at school) Tik Tok was playing...a song about a drunken slut wanting guys to feel her up...how the fuck is that fitting?JRCB said:True. A lot of rap that I hear just makes me question why people enjoy listening to it.Jark212 said:I hate rap where there talking about is gangsters, violence, and bitches...
Mainly has to do with all the mainstream shit that people hear, all mainstream artist are bad representations of their genre. Such as how Green Day and Fallout Boy are the most known Rock bands amongst teens.
I fucking hate mainstream...
Well, Thats not real rap.....Jark212 said:I hate rap where there talking about is gangsters, violence, and bitches...
I approve of most non-sell-out punk music; that's why I'm kinda depressed about SNFU. The bassist, Rob Johnson, used to be my baby-sitter (waaaaay back when), and I dig the older stuff, but the last few tours it's basically been "We're broke, we have mortgages and kids, SO HERE'S ANOTHER REUNION TOUR!"Vern said:I don't deserve a cookie for speaking the truth, but thank you anyway. It's always great to see someone with some taste in music, especially if they like NoMeansNo.Aerodyamic said:You, Sir, deserve a cookie.
Not many people can mention Tom Waits, NoMeansNo, and DK in the same sentence, and MEAN IT.
Back on-topic, I've gone and watched the 'Rap Parodies' "I'm on a boat", and "I'm da Boss". It's depressingly similar to the rest of the currently mainstream hip-hop flotsam, except with slightly fewer actual bitches. Except possibly the yo-yo's singing/rapping/whatever-they-call-those-noises. And it's ALMOST less appealing than REAL RAP/Hip-Hop.
Almost.
