I could not find an instrumental equivalent of the classic song-rating thread, which was a shame, because instrumentals are great for work and relaxation. Here, then, we can share and celebrate the musical pieces that are closest to us.

[HEADING=3]Rules:[/HEADING]

The only rules are that the piece must be primarily instrumental in nature, with no singing (eh, a little bit of choir work and chanting's fine :p), and that it cannot be overlong (say, more than twenty minutes in length). It can be an instrumental version of a popular song, or an old classical piece, a remix, pretty much anything at all. With classical music, try to narrow it down to the exact piece or movement. Or give it a funny title instead - it's all pretty good, really.

You can make an embedded video play at a certain time by using the command "&start=" and "&end=" at the end of the copied URL, then converting the video time into individual seconds. I shall begin:

Good luck!

6.6/10. It reminded me of Starcraft, then Doom, then then Doom 3.

6/10. Powerful and mesmerizing, but a little crowded.

You can't really go wrong with Chopin, 8/10.

CAPTCHA: More cowbell. What do you mean more cowbell? This piece of music is a damned masterpiece

Well that was positively awesome. I'm a sucker for VG interpretations anyway and I didn't know that one.

6/10. Decent song, but too long. I think I actually prefer the original in this case. Still, wasn't terrible.

5.8/10. It wasn't really my thing, I'm afraid.

Calm, beautiful and atmospheric to the best of its ability with a nice positive touch. Last time I actually heard that kind of music was in the game "To The Moon" which works to this pieces advantage, too. Still, it kind of falls flat in developing as much traction as it could and desperately needed a more pronounced structure.

6.5/10. It wasn't really my thing, but some parts did sit well with me. For some reason, it reminded me of scenes not unlike the one in the picture. I imagined running from the infected in the London quarantine zone at one stage.

Hello, TV- (or rather movie-) induced nostalgia again. I think I watched all three LotR parts together about twenty times or so, so the scene this belongs to is the lighting of the beacon towers to get Rohan to fight alongside Gondor - I always thoroughly liked the epic atmosphere and those high-strung violins that perfectly blend with the pictures of lonely towers atop icy mountain ridges. The part afterwards features the common Rohan theme in epic with a touch of fellowship intertwined in it. Very good piece, indeed.

5.8/10. Not too heavy, but Jazz doesn't usually excite me that much.
