'To the moon' is a strong contender for me. Manly tears were had at the end of that one.

I don't normally feel emotion about things, I'm quite a hard bastard. Ironic, as I used to be really sensitive until I was 12. Losing my uncle and grandad that year hardened me a lot. But I did feel genuine fear the first time I played Bioshock, when I first ran into the Houdini Splicer. Keeping my back to the walls, I was honestly scared, not knowing where or when it would turn up. The atmosphere didn't help much either :p. Plus, I never play horror games usually, but I do plan to get the Silent Hill series (all of them, yes, even The Room and Homecoming...) and Amnesia - and I do fully expect to be somewhat terrified by them too :).

The most memorable one for me was the original homeworld. I have never heard of the game at that time and just started playing. I played it for a while, then mission 3 happened. I saw this:

I turned from a curious player to a Kushan commander with hatred and a thirst for vengeance to those who left Kharak burning.
my god...I have never played or even heard of that game before, but that moved me a little bit

The second/alternate playthrough of Nier.
Never before have I felt that much guilt and sadness in a game. It's depressing how underrated Nier is.

The ending of Project Overlord in ME2 nearly made me shed a tear.
And The last enemy that shall be destroyed in Red Dead is a close second.

Terror: Mr. Tibbits in Condemned 1. it was like 4am in the dark and i swear the controller went flying as I screamed haha.

Awe: Stepping out of the sewers in Oblivion and walking into the bright open world that is Cyrodill. And pretty much everytime I see the northern lights or giant caves in Skyrim.

Sadness: In Saints 2 when Carlos gets wounded by the Brotherhood, and you gotta finish him off.

Rage: Having to play some games on Insanity just for the damn achievment.

Disappointment: Buying The Suffering 2 and realizing i beat it in 4 hours

Disbelief: Realizing I gotta wait for Halo 3...

Sheer absolute murderous rage: Playing Resident Evil 5 versus. If you're playing slayers the other guy always seems to make it his goal to hunt YOU down instead of killing zombies like he's supposed to. In Survivors it seems the other guy automatically starts beside the shotgun and once he has that the match is practically decided, and any Team game I seem to always get paired up with a chimpanzee while the enemy team is 2 elites. Never rage quit so much in my life...

Fear, when I first heard this sound:

I swear my flesh tried to crawl away from my ears (at least, that's what it felt like).

I felt the same with Project Zero: Fear. Also when I saw the spiders in Resident Evil 2 I felt pure terror.

I felt pretty good playing iron brigade just now. There's something about piloting a building sized robot with sandbags on it fighting against an army of evil robot televisions that's completely awesome.

I sort of got a tear in my eye near the end of Assassin's Creed: Revelations when I watched the final cutscene. I guess it was the fact that you could see the fear and hopelessness in those peoples' eyes.
the ending to Assassin's Creed: Revelations is on of the most powerfull scenes i have seen in a videogame in a long time.

In recent memory?
Finding out the translation of the Turret Opera for Portal 2.
..Does that count? I mean, it did rock my perception of both Portal and Portal 2 when I found out. I had to play the last third or so of the game again, and just... wow. There are so many implications to it, and you never know how much Chell is aware of.
The entire ending of Portal 2, yeah, let's go with that. It felt satisfying in so many ways: what happened to Aperture, to GLaDOS, to Chell, to Wheatley, to Cave Johnson, all through a jigsaw puzzle of events that is presented to you with excitement and memorable events.
I literally shed a tear at how beautiful the ending of Portal 2 was. It shed many more when I read the translation and heard it again, my brain translating the beautiful music that it didn't understand into the english text that I did understand.

I think my rawest emotional moment would have to be in Phantasy Star Universe at the very end.
This is a spoiler, but if you haven't played the game by now, it's your own damn fault. At the very end of the game, there is a moment where the main protagonist (you) tells his love interest that he will always be there to protect the world. Not because of morals, not because of other people, not because of loot, because it is the right thing to do, or anything else that would make sense. He tells her that he will always protect the world because she is in it. Then she bursts into tears and hugs him close, and roll credits.
That moment alone means nothing if you haven't gone through the story leading up to it, but if you have, oh man... It still makes me shed tears of pure happiness that only Birdy: The Mighty can trump.

So a very strange thing just happened to me.

I'm a big fan of horror games, I love being scared. It something that I find I can't really get from anywhere else anymore, horror films or books don't do it for me. With that said though, while I have been scared by or jumped at many a horror game before, I've never reached the point that I did today.

I was playing Project Zero (otherwise known as Fatal Frame depending on where you live) and I reached a point while playing it where I became so unnerved I had to switch it off. I had a fight with but one ghost around an hour in and that was enough to make me turn it off. Thinking back, I don't think I've done that for anything since I was 5. I felt genuinely scared.

So my question is really, what is the rawest emotion you've ever had while playing a game? Whether it be fear, anger, joy or sadness ect?
I had the same thing happen to me when I first played it I just couldnt take the oppressive atmosphere then I tried it again about 2 years later and wasnt fazed at all by it for some reason nothing in it scared me and I eventually gave up because I was not good enough at the game to continue without extreme annoyance (I suck at these kinds of games even though I like them).

Many games have made me incredibly angry and irritated there is way too many to name but this gen it would be Street Fighter 4 and Dead or Alive 4 both due to end bosses being irritating as hell.

Katawa Shoujo made me laugh and smile on many occasions but the only game to make me come close to crying has been Valkyria Chronicles at the death scene and the song soon after, all the more so because I found it quite shocking really didnt expect them to pull something like that.

There's this one moment in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days that gets me teared up every damned time.

Even with Roxas's meaningful-yet-still-stupid-sounding line near the end, THIS scene is the one that gets me teared up the most.

If that doesn't work, than pretty much any scene or battle in Xenoblade Chronicles where this song is playing oughta do the job.

I'm not saying that the song's sad. What I'm saying is that the song is ALWAYS played during scenes and/or battles that have a ton of emotional weight behind them.

Second best song in Xenoblade, beaten only by Y.W.K.O.N.

If you haven't played Eternal Darkness, do so right now! There is one scene in particular I still jump at to this day and the game is nearly 10 years old.

As for raw emotion, Super Metroid and Metroid Prime have moved me to tears (many years ago, but still...) Prince of Persia: Sands of Time had me frothing at the good gameplay. AC: Brotherhood and Dynasty Warriors 3 (yes, I said 3) tickled my "must play moar..." bone. Nothing else as of late has just grabbed me like those titles have.

As for an older memory, I remember being maybe 12(?) and being scared/surprised out of my mind while playing Thief: The Dark Project, especially after all of the mythical creatures were introduced. In a game where you're trying to be sneaky, every single sound can put you on edge, but nothing more than a guard drawing their blade or being hit by a random arrow or a zombie groaning and lunging toward you.

In more recent memory I got this amazing soaring feeling one of the first times I played minecraft and I had my volume pumped up. It was just turning dawn and C148's song Mice On Venus played and it gave me intense chills and an amazing feeling of excitement. It was also about 5 in the morning so I was probably sleep drunk and susceptible to these intense feelings of joy, but that song still haunts me when I hear it in game.

I was going to be a Sith in the first KOTOR, then I listened to Carth's reasoning for why he hated the Sith and why he couldn't trust. I then proceeded to become the most reverent person in the Game and took Carth everywhere just to do good things and make the poor soul happy. In short it was empathy, sadness and rage.
