They may have lost a little of there zing, but overall they aren't bad. I still try to watch them whenever I can.

I still see it as a highlight from getting home from college on a Wednesday, and like all things it has it's ups and downs (Though mostly the former). The good points over ZP is that he's been changing the appearence of his reviews from day one to present, be it change of voice (Calmer and more collective to faster talking and more energetic), to the animations which also pretty much reflect the same transformation as voice change. It's kept everything from going stale and has opened up new ways to critisise bad game development and show (what little) praise when it is deserving of it.
Still, the show does focus on actually reviewing the game of the week, instead of just mindlessly bashing it for shit's and giggles, and that's pretty much the main aim of a video review, no?

When I end up showing friends, they usually end up enjoying it to the point hat they will watch them when they have either the time or if it focuses on a game they are themselves interested in, though not religiously. Family wise... not so much, though I think that's just down to the fact they have no knowledge towards gaming or care for anything game based. Still, as pointed out in the show, it's a mistake to try and target to many markets at a single time.

I think it's the most authentic review-series ever instead of just saying: "Game is awesome, graphics are awesome, sound is awesome 10/10" like most magazines these days.

EDIT: Dude, it isn't "THEM". Yahtzee makes this reviews all by himself, only the theme animation is not by him.

Yahtzee is brilliant, I have never seen an episode of ZP that didn't have me rolling in tears of laughter if not at the very least pleasantly entertained. I've seen them all.

I still find him to be extremally entertaining as long as I break up watching ZP with other shows on the Escapist.

I really enjoyed it--though it is more fun if you've played the game in question but I still like watching them.

Same here. Maybe Yahtzee's losing it?
the dude's not losing it. he just has his up and down weeks, just like every other human being on the planet. (and off, if we still have any astronauts still in space)

I never thought that was possible either... everyone I showed ZP thought it was extremely funny, or said their english wasn't good enough too understand it all. Even my grandma ROFL'd.
I guess your friend is just... well... weird or something.
How did she even get it?

I love it, and I don't get the people who say the series have gone downhill, in my opinion its gotten better and better with every episode, still looking forward to the next episode.

I showed it to someone who was thinking of buying one of the games he reviewed, and they told me that it's not a review, it's just five minutes of hate. So, I suppose that could be one reason people are turned off of it.

i find them all funny, but then again i both understand, and almost entirely agree with Yahtzee on his points. I didnt like the fallout one though as Fallout in my mind is just a failiure becuase it attempts to make FPS and ARPG work together in a way other then the Systemshock/bioshock methods

The 1st one I saw was guitar hero 3, which to this day is still one of my favorites. I was hooked from then on, but the idea has gotten a little bit stale in recent months. My friends don't like it, but they started watching the more recent episodes. I think, although he has tried, there is not enough diversity integrated into the show these days. Different games get the same bad criticism (because game developers arn't watching him) and although we've had some new ideas (Infamous vs. prototype, the sims 3 and call of Jaurez), we've already heard the criticism of games just like them before. He's covered every genre of game, is what I'm saying, so originality has suffered a bit. I really like the article he wrote about how to make call of Jaurez a better game. I think that could be a new angle to explore. I'll probably get some shit for this next statement- I think he could also update the animation a bit. I know he has little time to do these, but sometimes the spastic single-frame change can feel to chaotic, especially with how fast he talks. Don't slow the talking down, by any means (i like how many jokes he can fit into a single sentence), but perhaps make the frames more fluid. That way the show feels new again without changing the humor.

I still love it. Very few people I know watch it, and the only person I've shown it to didn't find it particularly funny. To each his own, I guess.
Was the person you showed it to a gamer? Chances are, Yahtzee's humor will fall flat when viewed by a non-gamer (more specifically, someone without at least a passing knowledge of the history of games in the last ten years).

but what your forgetting is that hes not doing the reviews for a comic reaction...hes a critic. he doesn't care what you think about what he says thats just his opinion.

But i still like his material.
My friends like fast talking swearing british people.

The first, earlier ones had me laughing my ass off. As it did all my friends. But the last batch have only had 2 or 3 funny moments. They seem more now about reviewing than just having fun with it. I dont take his videos as legitimate reviews because they are opinionated and everyones different so i normally watch them for the comedy.
