The Yakuza is full of sarcastic gamers, eh? Sounds like I'd fit right in.
You might start doubting that when they ask you to murder someone from a rival Yakuza organization. And when they have you get a full body tattoo. But on the plus side you will probably get to dress in a snazzy suit.
And play Yakuza 3, apparently.

When will we get to see what the Taliban think about their role in the upcoming Medal of Honor game? :D

Seriously though that's interesting, and damn ballsy of the interviewer. Love the Sega USA quip.

The tag line implies the game is pretty similar to real life but then the majority of the review consists of the yakuza hating on it. Did I just misinterpret the review or is the tag line a bit mis-matched?

Hehehhehe, I like it.

"Sega USA sucks!"

Anyway, that's really odd that it's so like the real Yakuza lifestyle.

"Shirokawa" was disappointed to hear that his favorite parts of the game - mahjong, the sexual massage parlor, and the hostess clubs - were all cut from the version released here in the United States. "I feel sorry for the people who bought the American version," he said. "Sega USA sucks."
why were these cut from the game it's already M rated really no point in cutting things out
Because of American mums.
Exactly. If those things stayed in the game, vast numbers of American mothers would be up in arms and calling their lawyers because the content was appropriate to the rating, and not the age of little Timmy, who they bought the game for knowing full well the age rating.

I find myself thinking that, according to all of the people that interview the yakuza, they seem like nice and fun people that I would love to sit down and drink sake with.

Obviously this is just a ploy for them to get on my good side and kill me, but I like how they are making an effort on my part.

Mother 3, an uncut version of Yakuza 3...Why does Japan keep all the good stuff?

OT: I'm surprised they actually sat down with Yakuza members. I'd be too scared to myself. Kudos to them.

Not so ballsy actually. I mean, it's not like they're complete, unintelligible monsters who go around eating babies. Most are proly just young men prone to violence, or like in the article, people just avoiding taxes and making munnies through illegal business transactions and such. There are alot of worse people in the world than Yakuza. Much worse.

As long as nobody interviews a toaster and it tells them the fighting in the Transformers game was unrealistic, that would completely shatter my faith in videogames.

No, its not your fault. The snippet the OT provided isn't showing how much in the full article they are saying things are similar.

In the FULL Article the continually say how close the way the people talk, the look of the district, (and for the most part) the way people dress are to the Yakuza they remember.

Basically, most of the things they said are close, except for the fact that your character fights too much.
