Yeah I was ripping on WOW, but to be honest I don't really think they've produced anything good since starcraft and even that I found overhyped. Myth was a much better RTS and it came out a year earlier.
Well if they stuck with the old damage system, then the problem with the enemies being to easy would still exist.
It was a lot easier to die in fallout, everything had less health but the weapons did significantly less damage. It was more about crippling your enemies with targeted shots (which actually did something back then). I mean why exactly can''t you do targeted melee attacks? And whats the point of crippling someones arm if all it does is make him drop his gun momentarily? I remember blowing off a guys legs and laughing at his inability to crawl after me. That's entertaining gameplay.

It's hard to understand what you are saying, as I have not played the original Fallout. Though from what I gather, you want Fallout 3 to require a more tactical use of the VATS aiming system.

Anyways, if you have the PC version you might want to look into getting some mods. Some mods make survival in Fallout 3 more realistic and difficult, and some are designed to make Fallout 3 more like the original. For example, some mods enhance the effects of crippling the enemies limbs.

Yeah I wish I had it on PC, mine died recently so I'm using a netbook. Mods seem to be where its at since companies stopped caring about making a finished product since they have downloadable updates for console. It's all about the macho man randy savage mod for left4dead.

He has 1 point dough. Chich with a random shotgun can wipe you clean, and that is because enemies are level capped to your level. it will always be as hard to kill the same enemy at lvl 1 as it is at lvl 20. there will just be more variety.

Oh and just one last ***** about the game... the gauss rifle went from ultimate small gun to shitty unrepairable energy weapon that for some reason fires like a musket.

In regards to the Swampfolk in Point Lookout, there is a reason they do so much damage. All their attacks deal an extra 35 or so damage. This bonus damage ignores your damage resistance. This is why they still inflict massive damage despite your high DR. Bethesda gave them this advantage because people often complained that Fallout 3 was to easy, even on the hardest difficulty.
I wondered the same thing when I got Point Lookout. I'm maxed out at 30 and everything and was getting pummeled by these hillbillies wearing no armor at all. But yeah, Kraken is right. It's all done to add challenge to the game. Still, I'd like to think by reaching level 30 I've earned the ability to kill almost anything without this kind of problem. Honestly, Bethesda has the nasty habit of punishing those who level up...

I miss the sex & the ball shots. Burst firing the Bozar into a supermutants testicles was just funny ;D

Banging mother & daughter in New Reno was the biggest challenge Ive ever faced in game excluding (the troll bit in The Hobbit) :D
The sex especially, how do you go from being able to get gay married then sell your husband to slavers and giving blowjobs for 10 caps and getting diseased to being able to rent a bed next to a "prostitute" who looks like everyone else in town being the raciest content.

I feel your pain spindle.

I'm currently playing through Fallout 3, and a lot of the gameplay is unsatisfying. There are enough enjoyable elements in it to keep me going through one playthrough, but it's not on the same level for me as the original two games.

Just be glad you can pick up Fallout 1+2 from Good Old Games [http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/].

Have you played the restoration project? The EPA sheds so much light on the wastelands backstory.

Every game has glitches. The only glitch I ever got was being stuck in one place, but that was my fault for trying to get past a barrier.

What kind of dumbass plays games to be realistic?

Oh wait...

If you want to be realistic sell your Xbox and turn into an acountant. Or play RSV2 witch is shit (I don't think regenerating health is 'realistic').
Were you even born yet when fallout came out?

Excuse me if I'm being obnoxious here, but who cares?
Is the game fun to play? To me, yes. I find it fun fighting a squadron of Super Mutants in my underpants. And deatclaw-rockets are pretty funny in my opininon.
Maybe I'd see it differently if I played the other Fallout games, but to me it seems your thinking too hard.
It just hurts to see a sequel to an amazing game sloppily done. It's nowhere near as bad as Deus Ex 2 but it still sucks. It's more that the game could have been a lot better.
Deus Ex 2 is NOT bad mind you, it's a very okay game. In comparison to Deus Ex 1, sure its a terrible game but then again doesn't that count for every game?

sorry, give me a second.

your complaining about a game that is full of mutants, power armour, and a nuked world because is has no realism?

i laugh at you. HAH! <see? :p
Yeah good point. Your talking about a game that is pretty far out there in the first place. However, I feel the pain of games made great the first time and then somehow the second and third installment feel somewhat less developed than the first one.

It was realistic enough, first aid to up your HP and doctor to cure wounds like crippled limbs.
Nuka cola wasn't really used for much seeing as its addictive and gave you almost no hp.
