where i live its a. illegal to let water run from your property onto a public road. b. illegal to beat a rug on your washing line after 5 pm. and c. illegal to drive a motorvehicle without someone walking 100 yeards ahead warning people a car is comming apparently so it doesnt scare horses.

got to love the old laws :D
I think the government of your area is very concious about to make the people disciplined.. Its good thing..

I'm not sure if it's still a law or not but 6 years ago when I was studying law in college my lecturer told us that it's legal to shoot a welshman with a crossbow providing he is standing within the boundaries of a particular castle, I think it's in Cornwall but I may be mistaken.
I'd not be suprised. I used to live in Cornwall and heard that it is illegal NOT to shoot a frenchman from the clock tower in Redruth if you see them in the highstreet on a sunday.
According to your opinion this law is really legal?
I'd suppose that, if those quoting it were correct, it is simply an old bylaw that is still present on the books because nobody's gotten around to removing it. Technically legal in and off itself, but not when you take into account other laws...like murder.

Of course as an Englishman I'm geneticly required to support the theoretical shooting of the french?

In some obscure french village the mayor made a law banning people from being buried, essentially he is "banning death".

No cows may be driven down the roadway between 10 AM and 7 PM unless there is prior approval from the Commissioner of Police. There's a strange English law for you.

In Dubai (the city I currently live in), there's a law that prohibits certain goods and services from passing into this city if it violates their moral and religious values. Because of this vague blanket statement, a number of sites, games, movies, and games have been banned, but the ban is rarely ever enforced. Virgin Megastore will refuse to stock a certain game, but the corner shop right next to it has a copy of that game that you can purchase, and they rarely bat an eye.

Because of this law though, they changed Puss in Boots to Cat in Boots because of "sexual connotations". Like anyone couldn't look at the fucking poster and go "Oh, a pussycat. Oh, they must mean Puss in Boots, the fairy tale."

Apparently in Washington it is illegal to molest one's fishing gear. I don't want to know why that law was necessary...
I guess they managed to lure them all into passing that law hook, line, and sinker!

...That was horrible, I apologize... >_<
