what song has your favorite bass line? for me its anything by kyuss, they always have a really good bass line that the rest of the song is pretty much built around

(if you don't know who they are you can listen to them at http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#kyuss )

I really like the bass line in "Windowpane" by Opeth.
Probably because I can play it, and it mellows me out everytime I do.

I love the bass during the solo in Floods by Pantera. The bassline is like a solo in it self, but it still manages to complement the guitar so damn good. It's beautiful.

Not a huge fan of the new punk scene (I say new even though this song is almost 15 years old), but this song/album is awesome. You don't hear too many bass solos anymore.

Always loved this song. Most of Tool's songs kick ass, but something about this bass line really gets to me. Fun to play too.

John Entwistle one of the greatest bass players of all time. I love the look on his face when he is ripping it on the bass. Just so nonchalant.

That's all I can think of for now.

The best bass lines ever are all from Gang of Four, you ask "Why would I care about these bass lines, what's so special about this band I've never heard of?" Well you silly hypothetical person and question. Flea of Red Hot Chili Peppers was once in a band that soley covered The album Entertainment by this very band. Also they're one of the greatest of the real punk bands, beaten only by Buzzcocks. Also the bass lines are really good, like scary good. I would point you towards "Damaged Goods" If you wanna hear it (try to find a non live version for true amazing bass) of course nobody listens to me anyway so whats the point.

The theme song to Sanford and Son has one of the greatest bass lines of all time. Also, Primus, and pretty much anything Les Claypool does is, or is going to be epic.

Taxman by The Beatles has a great bassline, and it's really easy to pick out.
