Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - Way back. I wasn't an elite yet, but my ACES were complete. I remember some guy was trying to frag with pre-patch incendiary grenades (Means they went off a lot sooner) and he kept missing. At one point, he did get me, which he proceeded to tell me I was shit, and that I couldn't play the game. About thirteen seconds later I laid a forty-five through his left eye. I remember this, because I went up to his body and hid C4 on it, which I used to kill his teammate.

Yeah, I got kicked.

I used to get worked up over games, and then one day I stopped caring. I dunno why. I'm actually more worried for the other guy that I'm wasting because I'm (Call me a sissy) afraid of his/her reaction to whatever happened. Weird.

Okay. So I haven't played XBL for a while so I decided to start playing again the other day and played MW2 not even the third match I played in I was yelled at. Not for being bad mind you. For ACTUALLY playing the game how your supposed to be by doing something some twelve year old kid decided to call HARD Scoping with my sniper. If you don't know what HARD Scoping is its when you zoom in and stay zoomed in. I didn't know that was against the law of the online gaming universe to use a weapon the way it was intended. LIKE SERIOUSLY the kid yelled at me called me a cheater and kept saying how much better at the game he was than me when every match I played against him he was always last on his team and I was near the top.

So here is the question I pose to you Escapist. What is the most outrageous thing you have ever been yelled at while playing a game online.

Also, there's no such thing as a "best spec". Regardless of what anyone will tell you, talents are there for your customization. Do what works for you but keep in mind what talents aren't suited for instances. Consider cookie-cutter specs to be mere recommendations - they do work well but nobody in their right mind should bottle-neck you into them.

Bullshit. This is why theorycrafting exists. Numbers don't lie. There is a best spec. You can have your "Preferred" specs all you want, but don't for a moment think that there isn't an optimised spec for each class and role depending on fight and gear level.

A game is something you do for pleasure. If studying strategies for being better at a game gives you pleasure, it's part of the game and you do it. If not, or if it actually detracts from your pleasure because you like to go in new, you don't.

And it doesn't matter because it's a game.

It's a game people play to have fun.

Although if by not doing a minute thing right you're causing 4 other people to 'waste' their time (as opposed to dilligently employ their time towards a grand goal as usual?) it must not be a very good game.

Okay, it's a game, but there's four other guys there playing too, and they might not *like* wiping on bosses because you can't keep up the DPS requirement and they might not *like* having to deal with 80g repair bills because you couldn't spend ten minutes researching your class.

You are, in essence, actively choosing to make other player's experience worse. Do you have an issue with griefers in other games too? How about team killers? Because sometimes, that's what this amounts to. Except instead of having to wait 8 seconds to respawn, such team killing can set you back 10 minutes of gameplay per death to cover your repair/reagent costs.

I'm sorry you're "too busy" or "too focused on having fun" to spend 10 minutes looking up a cookie cutter spec, rotation and what gear choices are best for your class.

You step into my PuGs I expect efficiency and good gameplay. It takes many, many hours to get to 80 and I shouldn't be walking you through what your abilities and talents do after you've had literally days of playing for a class I've never even touched.

Ok, I dont care if you like your games to feel like a job, thats your preference, but you dont have any right to tell OTHER people how to PLAY a GAME. If you dont want to deal with people that like having fun more than they care about perfecting a run then I have a simple fix for you: dont run pugs with random people, run private with people you know.

I got called a noob by the the other team and also a sucky player guess how!
Demolition highrise 3 of them camp snipe 2 run around with model akimbos and of course with stopping power. Well me and my friends owned them heres our classes.
Mine: TAR-21 SILENCER and holografig and SPAS-12 with silenser and grip hardline and commando pro.
1st friend: WA2000 SILENCER 44 Magnum akimbo sleight of hand cold blooded and steady aim pro.
2nd friend: MP5K Silencer javelin claymore scavenger hardline steady aim

We really didnt use any equipment and they call us no skilling fags?
Those guys had the least points in the game and we got both bombs on both rounds.
They DIDNT!

20 something who likes calling us niggas (One of THEM was actully black))
13 years old who fough we have no skill (He camped with AA-12 Stopping power and we didnt stay in one spot exept to heal)

12 years old who USED a modded controller calling my friend for using a modded controller even thou hes not using anything so noobish.

I can ignore the human element because alongside a best spec is the best rotation/flowchart path, which maxmises use of available resources and procs as they come.

After that, it just becomes a matter of following your flowchart and not standing in the fire.

So yeah, human element can be ignored - and will be - if you want to do the best you can.

dont run pugs with random people, run private with people you know.

Work both ways 'mate'. You don't like playing with people who actually want to get stuff done and play efficiently, don't PuG.

Oh thats because those kids think Sniping is suppose to be like this. They think its cool to quick scope.

Whats the point of scoping in at that point? Seems like it would be more effecient to just shoot unscoped if you already know where the center of your screen is.

Because in MW2, if you're not scoped in, your aiming goes straight to shit, ESPECIALLY with a sniper rifle. But, then, MW2 is a terrible game, and everybody knows why.

I'v been kicked out of a WoW instance for doing (TO) much DPS.

Back before you could just roll to disenchant items in WoW while in instances or trade them to others, I often found myself the only enchanter in the group. As a rule I would announce after every boss "Let me know what you guys need and I won't roll on them", and that worked out really well. Until I was in an instance with two guys from a new guild I had joined and two guys from some other guild. The boss died, the loot dropped, I said "Tell me what you need", no one said anything, I rolled on them, won them all, and all of a sudden the two guys from another guild start screaming at me that I'm a ninja and that one of them needed that one specific item and I stole it. They pitched such a hissy fit, saying they were going to tell their whole guild not to PUG with ours. Such babies.

Which begs the question: Why the hell are these people playing an objective-based game mode if they want to play death-match?

One game on Bad Company 2, one of my squadmates (a sniper) kept running into enemy machine gun fire and would have lost us a cubic assload of respawn tickets if I didn't revive him every time. He messaged me after, saying I was a noob and needed how to learn to play as a medic. Apparently I made him die 20 times. Because, you know, it wasn't the bullets he was running straight in to.

Next round, I followed him around and revived him every time he went down.

What the fuck? That is total bullshit. THAT'S THE FUCKING OBJECTIVE! Apparently people now and days even in a tactical game like Rainbow 6 they go off on their own and kill even when they are supposed to plant a damn bomb or something.

But let me tell you of these few times.

I was playing on the first MW and was playing team deathmatch. I had last stand on yet I was TEAMKILLED just because of it. Here's how it went.

Me: Dude WTF?

Guy: You are not supposed to use fucking last stand! It is fucking cheap and you should be banned for using it!

Me: I am basically MVP of the match and your in last place. So taking it out on me is just bullshit.

Guy: This game is supposed to be tactical! Use something that IS NOT FUCKING CHEAP! This is not some n00b game!

Me: IT IS A FUCKING TEAM DEATHMATCH! THERE IS NO TACTICS BESIDES SHOOT AND KILL DUMBASS! JUST BECAUSE YOUR ON LAST PLACE ON THE TEAM ROSTER DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO GO TAKE IT OUT ON ME!

Guy: LOOK YOU FUCKING NOOB! I AT LEAST TRY TO DO IT HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE STUPID ASSHOLE!

ME: That's not what your mom called me last night in bed!

Another story

I was playing in MW2 and was doing the Afghan map. I have a sniper and usual throwing knife. I shoot guy, another guy comes up and I throw a knife at him. I get screamed at for being a fucking hacker in the game and using bots. Like this:

Guy 1: YOU FUCKING HACKER! KICK HIM KICK HIM!

Guy 2: YOU CANNOT THROW KNIFES IN THIS GAME UNLESS HE HACKED! HACKER!

Me: Dude, I shot a guy with a sniper and that is considered hacking? And a threw a knife at a guy and that is also hacking? Dumb ass you can get the throwing knife when you it level 7!

Guy 2: That is so fucking false! I have never seen a throwing knife in this game! This guy is hacking so bad!

Guy 1: Sniping is for n00bs! Go away n00b and let us be so that the pros can play!

Me: Then how come my rank is higher than both of yours COMBINED? Explain that! Oh wait! you cant! Because n00bs don't have the brain power to think of things besides being bigger n00bs.

Both guys:...
