Really, your surprised by this. Do you know how many f***ing kinds I have had to deal with on xbox live, do you?

But yeah I do agree, it makes no sense at all.

Bad parents who suck at parenting. You can't even fix it because then you'd hurt their pride, so they ignore you and blame it on someone else. Lovely, ain't it?

It honestly kind of pisses me off how overprotective my parents are, and I'm against your view. I think if their parents let 'em play the games, then it's their decision. Actually, if and when I have kids, I'm going to let them do kind of whatever. Do your parents have a lot of restrictions on games, music, etc?

I started playing GTA when I was nine, it didn't hurt me. Of course I only played it twice, and my mother didn't let me, so what do I know?

I first played Duke Nukem 3D (on PC), possibly before I was 9. Not that I like little kids online, but kids can play such games and be alright, but my parents knew what I was doing, and I had been gaming practically since birth.
And besides, Vice City is the best one.
Now if he started talking smack, thats another discussion right there.

As long as the kid isn't going around shooting people because he saw it on Call of Duty, then I have no issue.

Hell, I was playing fucking Unreal Tournament when I was 6, so I grew up around that kind of shit.

The kid said his favorite games were shooters. Big deal. Fuck, lighten up for a bit.

i have a cousin who lets her kid play mw2 so i was slightly concerned but tbh its the parents rights to let their kid play these games. It is also their right to take the consequences if said kid commits an act based on the games. Usually that happens when the kid is not right in the head...

as long as his parents made sure he wasnt, you know, acting out the games in real life, I don' really mind.

what i do mind is when these kids have online gaming. the people online are generally worse than the games themselves, and much more corrupting. there are countless audio tracks (with video) of little kids cussing out their parents and generally acting like dicks while they're on xbox live. they hear the older gamers talk like that, start annoying them, and then start doing what they do. At that point, they get some sort of hivemind going and wont stop.

Well good thing I don't own an Xbox or those games so I will never meet him. (Assuming it's a xbox and not a PC.)

I think you are worrying too much about other people's children. Let his parents raise him how they think they should.

I played Resident Evil 2 at age 8. Am I a psychopath? No. Why? My parents explained to me the difference between reality and fiction. As long as that happens, what's the harm? God forbid a parent has to teach their kid something like that......

I think it's okay as long as the kid knows that it's fake, and that it doesn't work like that IRL etc, etc.
