Well, canonically, the Reapers come every (insert years here) and destroy species that are advanced (i.e., space colonization, FTL drives, etc.)factualsquirrel said:Yeah, but what does FTL travel have to do with anything?oppp7 said:Don't be such a downer. It's obviously a giant alien fleet bent on wiping out all humanity.factualsquirrel said:So gravity fucked it up.
It's quite obviously not a spaceship, although I've no idea what it is.
OT: I wish it was something more, but common sense says no, it's just a meteor.
Besides, I don't even believe in faster than light travel.
Light that can create an X shaped debris pattern?Hubilub said:How is that a spaceship-like object? It's just fucking light.

This is a spaceship
I still can't get over the fact that's a real name, friggin' hilarious.firedfns13 said:We have better. Commander Max Fightmaster, USN.Daystar Clarion said:Ah bring it on, Shepard will... Oh wait... he isn't real is he? Yeah, we're boned.
Didn't know dark energy is a real thing. Thought it was a Mass Effect invention.quiet_samurai said:oppp7 said:Besides, I don't even believe in faster than light travel.hvitulf said:1. Dark energy, which is the driving force behind the expansion of the univeres is FTL and is getting faster all the time. Sure we can't achieve it ourselves, but the speed of light isn't the fastest travel speed in the cosmos as far as actually traveling through space goes.
OT: It's either some kind of collission and the tail is the debris of that explosion, or some gaseuos anomally.
I knew you were going to use that pictureJulianking93 said:[spoiler/]-too much snip-[/spoiler]
That was my reaction
It's the marker to Treasure Planet?Cpt_Oblivious said:Well it's obviously where the space treasure is hidden.
Dark energy may not be real, but it's certainly a real-life theory [http://imagine.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/science/mysteries_l1/dark_energy.html] with a lot of real-life physicists researching it.DustyDrB said:Didn't know dark energy is a real thing. Thought it was a Mass Effect invention.
Yeah, it does sort of look like the Destiny Ascension, but why would the Citadel Fleet's flagship come over here?ConnorCool said:It does kinda look like that ship from the Citidel in Mass Effect, the Asari naval ship I think
to fight the martians?soren7550 said:Yeah, it does sort of look like the Destiny Ascension, but why would the Citadel Fleet's flagship come over here?ConnorCool said:It does kinda look like that ship from the Citidel in Mass Effect, the Asari naval ship I think
Meh, still prefer wormholes. Bending the fabric of space-time so where you are and where you want to be are on top of each other just seems like a more convenient option.hittite said:Actually, there are a few theories that might possibly work. Most notably, a warp drive. Basically (and please don't ask me to explain in detail, this stuff is bonkers)it creates a small area of space where the speed of light is faster than the one in the normal universe, so inside of the warp, you're still going slower than light, but to the rest of the universe, it's faster.oppp7 said:I'm saying that aliens probably can't go faster than light either because it's impossible.
