My wife has a facebook account and she has hers set to 'private, friends only'. That sight does not return anything that she has posted.

I dislike facebook for many reasons. But it does seem that private actually means private, if your not stupid and use the right settings.

You can also legally take pictures of people in a public place, find phone numbers in phone books, and Google addresses.

Don't. Put. Shit. Online. You. Don't. Want. Others. To. See.
To add on to this, make sure your friends know when you don't want something put online too. I don't put anything online I'm not comfortable with making public, but friends have tagged me in far too many pictures of us doing stupid shit I really don't want certain other people to see. The photo tagging feature needs to die in a fire.

I feel sorry about the bloke caught by his grandparents, but he was stupid enough to do so while they were around. Fucking hilarious though.

There's a reason I don't have a Facebook.
Who tells their friends that they were caught by their grandparents.

Seems like the guy deserved it anyway...
He was obviously joking...

My Facebook feed is full of jokes like that and Facebook rapes.

None of those examples seem private in the slightest, you have highlighted parts of a joke someone told as if he should be embarrassed even though he was just quoting Arj Barker (Who is awesomely funny by the way).

How super mature your life must be.

Edit: After looking at the OP some more, and realising he went to that site and typed in "anal sex", "I fucked him", "drugs" and "having a wank" no wonder the results he got were jokes.

We're not super mature, we just don't make sex jokes every few minutes, and we don't claim that we've been caught masturbating either.

Facebook rape, someone leaves their computer unattended at college and people whether they're your friends or not type stuff in. It happens a lot.

Frankly I am surprised this is news. I was under the impression most people knew this, they just didn't care. I guess this is another case where I give humanity too much credit.

On the topic of facebook rape : One of my roommates (We shall call him R) grabbed my other roommate's (He will be W) laptop one day while it was logged onto Facebook. R then proceeded to come out of the closet pretending to be W. This pissed off W's girlfriend to no end but we got a good laugh out of it.

Fair enough, I wouldn't know to be honest...

Never join a social networking site if you don't read and understand its user agreement. I remember one side actually had the term "We on your soul now" in the agreement.

My mum saw status updates from my cousin on my sisters facebook saying:
"God why can't I stop masturbating"
"damn I am flying sky high. Gotta love the weed"
and also a picture of him naked.

My general settings are "public"
I don't post things I wouldn't want people to know, that's fucking basic.

In the UK we are already seeing politicians get in hot water over tweets that they haven't put enough thought into, I wonder what it will be like in 20 years, when they can just pull incriminating evidence off facebook?

Hey I have always used a stalker profile instead of having a real one to check what's happening. But this will be much easier. Thanks

Why I don't have a "real" facebook profile? Because I wouldn't be able to get 100+ friends and thus admitting my low social status.
