We stopped playing T-rated games? What's with these copies of Valkyria Chronicles, BlazBlue, Disgaea 3, the Sam & Max episodes, SSB Melee and Brawl, and Phoenix Wright floating around my house then?

I still play T rated games. Granted, most of the games I own are rated M, but I still play T rated games.

So, you're reason for hating T rated games is because in your mind there's no challenge, it's not a complete gore-fest, and they aren't spouting the F word every few seconds as if the world's about to end? You need to broaden your horizons, my friend.

World of Warcraft is rated T.

No one plays that anymore.
I know, right? Clearly the game is too pussy to be played by adults, with the lack of gore and (exposed) tits everywhere.

REAL grownups play My Little Pony: Pinkie Pie's Party. [http://www.amazon.com/My-Little-Pony-Pinkie-Nintendo-DS/dp/B0019QEY3I] That shit is HARDCORE.

Being serious, why would you stop playing T-rated games? Viewtiful Joe, Okami, Star Wars Battlefront, Shadow Of The Colossus, etc are all T-rated games, and they're some of my favorites. Not playing games based on the age category is stupid.

And we have a winner.

Let me throw out a list of meaningless names just for the hell of it. Street Fighter 4, BlazBlue, Ikaruga, Muramasa, Ratchet and Clank, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, Oblivion (which should have been rated T), Guitar Hero/Rock Band, Metroid, and I'm waiting for FF13. Umm, what were we talking about again?

Wow, I stopped caring about ratings when I was... I don't even know, but most of my game collection now is M rated, not because I only care about M rated games, but because I all the games I care about are rated M.

Off Topic but I just realized I played Killer7 when I was 13-15.

Remove Ikaruga off that list. It's Rated E. But yeah, fighting games are usually Teen rated.

How does being rated T have anything to do with game difficulty?
That's like saying that ice cream causes drownings.
Nah, not really. It's like saying that snowy areas will have slippery roads.
Being rated T does not equal easy difficulty, but it does make sense that a game that is somewhat marketed towards a younger audience has easier difficulty.

a) whats a t - rated game? is it ok for kids or not?

b) the only two reasons i would stop playing games are 1 - they are sh*t 2 - there is more swearing than necessary

I tried the demo of the rachet and clank game.. (Or whatever it was called) Where you solve puzzles as the robot... The voice of the Robot that takes you through the tutorial made me rage quit right there... T rated shouldn't mean annoying voices...
The game you're talking about is E10+. But yes, that character was a little annoying.

OT: What are you talking about? I play T games all the time. Some of my favorite games are rated T. Hell, some of my favorite games are rated E, for chrissakes.
Ahh my bad... It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread... Great looking game and concept, but jeeze that character was too annoying for me to want to actually buy the game, or even rent it :(

You guy apparently ain't heard Scooter of Borderlands yet. "CATCH-A-RIIIIIIDE!"

I heard both him and the guy in R&C tutorial. Robot is not that worse.

OT: the guy who posted that thread is obviously a twelve-year old thinking that gorefests are "kewl" and craving for some "wheel guns". For the record, i'm sixteen, and i hold Ratchet (not the games, the lead character alone) in much higher regard than all parts of GTA and entirety of Warhammer 40000.

Nah I've personally been avoiding Borderlands for some reason.. I guess I can't make up my mind as to if it's worth my time or not... I guess I'll rent it sometime.

The reason I stopped playing t-rated games is because the types of games I tend to play have an odd tendancy to use a great deal of blood and gore. This does not mean I won't play a T rated game from time to time.

I'm not sure I get it, are T rated games inferior to M rated ones? I really don't care about the rating, just so long as the game is good.

Having blood, gore, language and tits, doesn't a good game make.

If tetris had gore, gibs and swearing when you cleared lines i would totally start playing it.

As it is now, i'm afraid of playing it. Since it's not M rated, my friends might find me childish if they ever find out that i played a game without gore, cursewords and bad sex-cutscenes /sarcasm.

It's kind of sad that not enough violence is a reason to not play a game. It's even sadder that there is at least one person on this forum, let alone the world, who feels that a games ESRB rating has anything to do with it's quality.
