Well, some things do; but I wouldn't really call them people.Amnestic said:World of Warcraft is rated T.
No one plays that anymore.
You must first prove that the problem exists before giving causes.Darzen said:1.not enough blood.
2.No bad language.
3.Way to easy
Example: i'm playing dark void on "hardcore" mode and i've only died once because i thought Melee was going to be good.instead i got curb-stomped by Robots. After i got the basics down i had to go up agoinst 2 robots with rocket firing eyes.once again no deaths.
I'm pretty sure you could drown if shoved down this:Pingieking said:How does being rated T have anything to do with game difficulty?
That's like saying that ice cream causes drownings.
No.Darzen said:so you saying when a head explodes you don't look at it for a quick moment before killing the next 1?Pingieking said:How does head explosions make games more distracting or difficult? I don't remember encountering a sudden difficulty spike in Fallout 3 when I got the bloody mess perk. Maybe if you played the game specifically for that gore, then I might understand the distraction factor.Darzen said:well the real disscuion here is if difficulty levels of rated T games have declined over time.they don't really need foul language or blood&gore but still the random distraction of somethings head exploding can really make a game more difficullt by even a little bit
Anyway, it's more like the decline of difficulty of all games rather than just ones rated T.
Americow said:I realized recently that nearly every single one of my games is rated M. I remember the good old days, when my parents were afraid to purchase Jak 2 for me and I felt badass for reading one of the lines on the back of the box.
"He's mad as hell, and he's out for revenge."
I actually think this has potential for discussion. My opinion is that game developers are either making kid friendly games to appeal to that demographic, or hardcore games which generally fall under the m rating for gore. The only people that bought T games were kids that weren't old enough for M games and wanted to still convince themselves that what they were playing was "bad-ass" and "edgy". I think this demographic has been dramatically changed. Just look at the Wii. You have Wii Sports in one hand and MadWorld in the other. Where's the middle ground?Darzen said:1.not enough blood.
